When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 234

If that happened, she would officially be part of the Nash family, forging an unbreakable link to Yosef.

After making the call, Calvert reported back. "Mr. Nash, I've asked them to come over. They should be here in about forty minutes. But, sir..." He hesitated, but pressed on. "Are you absolutely sure about this?"

Yosef looked at Jethro. "I'll let you get married. And after you're married, you'd better be prepared to bear the consequences."

"You got married on a whim, so can I," Jethro retorted.

Yosef's lips curled into a cold smile. "Don't compare that piece of trash to my wife."

Jethro took a deep breath, clenched his jaw, and said nothing.

Calvert felt a massive headache coming on.

Yosef stood up and looked at Calvert. "We'll start the meeting. Let me know when the registry officials arrive. Also, contact the media. Prepare for a public announcement in three days regarding his disownment."

Calvert froze for a second before finally acknowledging the order. "Yes, sir."

Yosef strode out of the office and toward the conference room. Calvert didn't follow immediately. He couldn't stop himself from making one last plea. "Mr. Jethro, please... don't be so impulsive. You know Mr. Nash better than anyone. Would he ever do anything to harm you? If Ms. Harmon..."

"That's enough," Jethro cut him off.

Calvert had no choice but to nod and leave.

Artina, meanwhile, was a whirlwind of excitement and fear. "Jethro, are you really going to marry me? Can I really be your wife?"

"Of course," Jethro affirmed.

"But..." she said worriedly, "Yosef said... he's going to publicly disown you in three days."

Jethro looked at her. "Are you scared?"

"Of course not!" Artina threw her arms around him, tears streaming down her face. "Jethro, you're so good to me," she choked out. She was genuinely moved. To have a man stand up for her so forcefully, to defy the world for her, she felt it was all worth it.

Calvert couldn't help but call Henrietta and tell her what had happened. Henrietta was stunned into silence for a long moment before finally saying, "I understand."

Then came the overwhelming wave of anger and conflict. Artina... she hadn't even had the surgery yet! She was going to get a marriage certificate with Jethro while carrying another man's child? No. Absolutely not.

Henrietta immediately called Yosef. He paused his meeting to take the call. "We absolutely cannot let them get married!" she said urgently.

Another pause, and then he laughed, a warm, genuine sound. "I miss you too."

Somehow, hearing those words was all the reassurance she needed. "Okay. You get back to your meeting. I'll hang up now." After ending the call, Henrietta's heart was pounding. The words 'fake certificate' had sent a jolt through her.

She took a moment to collect her thoughts. In Artina's current situation, even if she got a certificate, she couldn't possibly sleep with Jethro. The moment she did, her pregnancy would be exposed. The doctor who had been bribed had confessed everything. Artina had found out about the baby too early to have a safe abortion. At such an early, unstable stage, any attempt could be dangerous. So Artina would likely try to avoid intimacy at all costs, finding ways to delay. That would surely make Jethro suspicious. In short, this plan really was the best way to expose Artina's lies. Jethro would probably discover the truth on his own.

With that thought, Henrietta finally felt a sense of relief. Artina hadn't been to Matteo's villa in days. If she suddenly had a flash marriage with Jethro, she would have to go there to explain things and make plans. Or maybe, she thought, Artina would cut ties with Matteo completely. After all, what Jethro was doing for her was so moving, even an outsider like Henrietta could see it.

Soon enough, Jethro and Artina had their 'marriage certificates' in hand. Artina was in a complete daze. Once it was done, Yosef simply told Calvert, "Show them out."

Jethro, maintaining his defiant stance, left with Artina. As Henrietta had predicted, Artina was now the one feeling nervous. Her original plan had been to take a risk and sleep with him if she couldn't get the certificate. But now that she had it, she didn't want to take that chance. After leaving Yos-Empire Group, she immediately said she had to go to the set, that she couldn't delay filming any longer.

Jethro was confused. "But your face is still injured. How can you film?"

"It's fine," Artina explained. "I'll just put some ice on it at the set, and makeup will cover it."

Jethro assumed she was eager to finish the movie to move on to other things. "I told you I'd start a company for you. I'll have someone start putting a team together this afternoon."
