When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 251

Then, they both spoke at the same time.

“If it happens, that’s fine,” Yosef Nash said.

“Waiting a couple of years would be good too,” Henrietta Sargent countered.

After they spoke, they both fell silent again, turning to look at each other. Henrietta couldn't help but smile, and Yosef’s lips curved in response.

Truth be told, Henrietta knew Yosef's suggestion to wait was for her sake. He wanted her to have a chance to act, to experience a career she hadn't yet explored. A part of her wanted that too.

Of course, Yosef also understood Henrietta's reasoning was out of consideration for his age.

After a moment's thought, Yosef made the final decision. “Then let’s wait two years before trying for a baby.”

He looked at her earnestly. “I believe that in two years, you can achieve great things in your acting career. It won't be too late to have children then. Once your career is established, you can always make a comeback after giving birth. Isn’t that the best plan?”

The warmth of his words filled Henrietta’s heart, and she was deeply moved. “So… you’re not in a hurry?” she asked.

“I’m not in a hurry,” Yosef said.

He had just gotten a taste of this new intimacy and was savoring every moment, wishing for nights of endless passion. As for kids… they could definitely wait. If she got pregnant soon, his nights of passion would be over before they’d even begun, and he wasn't ready to go back to a life of abstinence, and two years sounded like the perfect amount of time to avoid that.

Henrietta nodded. “Alright. I’ll listen to you.”

“In that case,” Yosef said, “I’ll make sure to have condoms tonight.”

At his words, Henrietta’s face flushed. Was this something they could just say so casually now?

She didn’t answer, quickly turning and heading into the bathroom. Yosef followed close behind, their evening filled with sweet intimacy.

Meanwhile, Artina Harmon was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

After she fainted last night, Jethro Nash had found a pig truck in the countryside, tossed her in the back, and had her driven back to Juno City, where she was unceremoniously dumped at the Harmon family’s doorstep.

She had woken up halfway through the journey in the filthy, reeking truck, which was still slick with pig manure and urine. The sheer terror and filth of her surroundings had stripped away the last of her dignity, leaving her shaking and utterly broken.

Just as she began to put on her makeup, her phone rang. It was her assistant, asking why she wasn't on set yet. The director, Ms. Tatum, was getting impatient.

Artina shrieked into the phone, “Tell Charlotte Tatum I have something to do today! I’m taking the day off!” She hung up.

Damn Charlotte! Damn Henrietta! They were both there yesterday, conspiring to shatter her dreams. After such a devastating blow, they still expected her to show up and work? Were they trying to drive her to her death?

Her phone rang again. Her assistant.

“What now?” Artina roared into the phone.

Her assistant’s voice was timid. “Ms. Tatum said… if you’re not here on time, she’s going to recast your role.”

Artina’s vision went dark. “I’m going to find Henrietta!” she snarled.

After hanging up, she flew into a frenzy, rummaging through the house for a knife. She would find a dagger and stab that unforgivable bitch Henrietta! No, no, she couldn't. Stabbing Henrietta would be satisfying, but she couldn’t ruin her own life. Then… then she would stab herself. Henrietta was pushing her to this!
