Mrs. Lew was no pushover. Despite being in her fifties, she was remarkably fit.

In a few quick strides, she caught up to Artina, grabbed her arm, and began raining blows on her. "You shameless hussy, you hurt Mr. Jethro like this and still claim to love him? I'll beat you to death!" she cursed.

More servants rushed in, followed by a swarm of security guards.

"Security, call security!" Zelina's voice was filled with a chilling fury. "We must break her legs today! I want her to spend the rest of her life on her knees, atoning for what she did to my son!"

Artina, already screaming from Mrs. Lew's assault, was paralyzed with fear when she heard Zelina's decree. She shoved Mrs. Lew away with a surge of adrenaline.

But a quick glance around the main hall revealed a dozen security guards, each holding an electric baton. Her legs nearly gave out.

There was no escape.

If they broke her legs, she would be crippled.

Leticia didn't move. "Mom, listen, I know about this. What Artina did was wrong, but... it's understandable. Any girl in her situation might have done the same thing. She's been through a lot, she's a victim too. Jethro is angry and won't forgive her, so she came to you. She must have known it was a long shot, but she came anyway."

"That shows how determined she is! Why would she come to you if she didn't truly love Jethro? And you've already had her beaten like this. She has a movie to film, she's supposed to become an international star. If you cripple her, you'll ruin her career! How will she ever act again?"

Zelina looked as if she might faint from sheer fury. "Yosef was raised under the harshest discipline as the family heir, so I let Jethro do whatever he wanted, free from family responsibilities. And you... I've spoiled you rotten! Have you lost your mind? Did Yosef inherit all the brains in this family?"

Leticia was the true princess of the family, genuinely innocent and naive.
