When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 320

Henrietta took a deep breath. “I can’t thank you enough.”

Jethro looked at her with concern. “Should we have a doctor check you out as well?”

She shook her head. “I’m fine.”

“When did Yosef leave?” Jethro asked. It was just her luck that something like this would happen the moment Yosef was gone. He knew that if it had been anyone other than the composed and cool-headed Henrietta, they would have been a sobbing, hysterical mess by now. She still seemed remarkably unshaken, though clearly not at her best.

“Yesterday morning,” Henrietta replied. “He had something important that couldn’t be delayed. In a way… it’s a good thing he’s out of the country.”

Jethro looked surprised and curious. “Why do you say that?”

Henrietta’s gaze dropped, her face still a bit pale, but she sounded genuinely relieved. “Because if he were here… he probably would have been sitting next to me. Which means it’s possible…”

She didn’t finish the sentence, but Jethro understood perfectly. *It’s possible Yosef would have been the one to take the knife.*

“I see,” Jethro said. “It seems you truly love and care for my brother. However, if Yosef had been here… this ‘taking a knife’ incident wouldn't have happened in the first place.”

Henrietta slowly raised her eyebrows, suddenly realizing the implication of his words.
