Pamela seemed to snap back to reality, her voice rising to a shrill cry. “Yes! You save him! You have to!”

She lunged at Henrietta like a madwoman, trying to drag her away. Charlotte and Winona immediately moved to intervene, but Pamela, fueled by a mother’s feral desperation, was a force of nature. She tore through them with a strength born of pure, unadulterated terror.

In that instant, Dexter and Leon realized what was happening. “That’s right, grab her!” Dexter yelled. “Drag her into the operating room! Make her give Matteo blood! Hurry, go!”

These last five minutes were truly a matter of life and death; every second that ticked by tightened a knot in their chests. All four of them descended on Henrietta, grabbing her and trying to haul her toward the operating room.

One person was no match for four. Leon physically blocked Winona and Charlotte, and the difference in strength was too great for them to help. Henrietta struggled with all her might, her usual composure and elegance completely gone. She would not give Matteo her blood. If he died, he died!

“Let go of me!” she yelled in a fury. “I would rather die than give him my blood! Let go!”

But it was hopeless. Pamela and Artina had her by the wrists while Dexter clamped his hands on her shoulders, using all his strength to shove her toward the operating room. The scene was pure chaos. They managed to force her through the first set of doors. Pamela pried the inner door open… Henrietta was about to be pushed inside against her will.

“Henrietta!” Charlotte and Winona screamed in terror.

Just then, at the most critical moment, a sharp voice cut through the pandemonium. “What do you think you’re doing?!”

Before Pamela and the others could even react, several strong bodyguards tore them off Henrietta and threw them to the ground. Pamela let out a primal howl of despair. From her perspective, she wasn’t just pulling on Henrietta; she was pulling on her son’s life, his last and only hope for survival.
