Yosef was genuinely furious. Jethro had called him the night before to tell him what happened, sending his heart pounding. He'd felt a wave of panic and decided to fly back immediately.
He had barely arrived, hadn't even seen Henrietta yet, and the first thing he heard was another man's family demanding his wife get back together with him. It was infuriating.
His words sent a chill through both Artina and Pamela. With Yosef's power, it was true... he could easily have them thrown out of Juno City on a whim, regardless of the facts.
But things had already come this far. Steeling herself, Artina said, "Mr. Nash, everything you've said is speculation. Please present your evidence before you make such accusations!"
Although Artina appeared defiant, she was panicking internally. She couldn't believe Yosef had guessed everything so accurately based on pure conjecture. The man's insight and intuition were almost supernatural.
Pamela added, "That's right! Besides, Artina and our Matteo are just colleagues. Why would they cook up a scheme like that? My son nearly died saving Henrietta! If he had died, who would have taken care of me in my old age? You?"
Pamela pointed a trembling finger at Yosef, her face streaked with tears, her voice a hysterical shriek. Then she pointed at Henrietta. "Or you? My son risked his life and this is how you repay him? Not only are you ungrateful, but you're also trying to slander him! You people are monsters!"
With that, she collapsed to the floor, wailing dramatically. Matteo, his face pale, remained silent through it all.
Yosef sneered. "Colleagues? You were having dinner together at the villa last time. And now, with Matteo in this situation, you've been running around and keeping a constant vigil at the hospital. You call that a 'colleague' relationship?"
