When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 334

Henrietta nodded. "You're right."

Yosef's expression darkened. "Although we can't find any concrete evidence, it was definitely their scheme. They think we don't know about their relationship, but once you connect the two of them, it's obvious. They're two of a kind."

Henrietta nodded. “Yes. That has to be it!”

As she spoke, a lingering fear crept over her.

When the assassination attempt happened, she had, for a fleeting moment, been genuinely moved.

Afterward, it hadn't even crossed her mind to suspect it was a setup.

A life saved through a scheme isn't a debt of gratitude; it's a setup—a cold-blooded, calculated deception.

Henrietta’s brows furrowed.

Yosef continued, "Back at the hospital, I wasn't sure if you still wanted to go through with your original plan to build them up just to tear them down, so I didn't expose them. If I wasn't worried about interfering with your plans, they'd have been kicked out of the country by now."

Henrietta took a deep breath, her fists clenching in anger. After a moment, she said, “Since it’s come to this, let’s stick to the plan.”

Yosef said, "Okay, whatever you want. Don't worry, I'll be your staunchest supporter. And… I'm so sorry… that I wasn't there with you."

His voice was low, filled with regret.

An unfamiliar feeling washed over Henrietta. "It's okay," she said softly. "It… was just a coincidence."

The attack at the wrap party was the only way an "outsider" could have gotten to her. If it hadn't been for the party, the background actor never would have gotten close.

But who could have predicted that Yosef would be out of the country at that exact moment…

Henrietta noticed Yosef looked tired and, after a moment’s thought, said, “Yosef, do you... want to take a nap?”

Yosef nodded. "Alright."

He had rushed back and hadn't rested well.

A nap now would give him the energy for more important things at home later.

Before he left the country, they had spent their nights entwined, enjoying the joys of intimacy.

After he left, because the project was confidential, they had barely been in contact.

For the first time, Yosef was experiencing what it felt like to miss someone.

He didn't know if he missed the person, or if he was just craving the tumultuous passion between a husband and wife…

Soon, they arrived at Elysium Manor.

Yosef had said he would explain when he got back.

But… he hadn't said a word about it yet.

Henrietta remained silent.

He had said he would explain, so maybe he would in a moment?

But to her surprise, Yosef seemed to have forgotten all about it and casually picked up a finance book.

Henrietta frowned slightly, turning to look at him in silence.

Yosef sensed her gaze, lifted his eyes, and took her hand. "What is it, Henrietta?"

Henrietta’s lips parted.

But before she could speak,

He suddenly asked, "You want more?"

Henrietta remained speechless, her mind racing.
