When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 337

Seeing her expression, Yosef looked down and asked in a low voice, “Henrietta, are you angry?”

Henrietta snapped back to reality, a bitter taste in her mouth as she pressed her lips together.

Angry?

What right or position did she have to be angry?

Would her being angry even make a difference?

This was a project that involved two countries.

In the face of national interests, every individual was just an insignificant person.

Could she stop this project just because she was angry or because she minded?

Never mind whether she could stop it; even if she could, she would become an enemy of the state!

Besides, it was impossible to stop.

This was far beyond her control.

Even Yosef probably couldn't refuse, could he?

And Britney was likely in the same position.

When the nation calls, what do personal matters count for?

Especially personal feelings...

Henrietta forced herself to calm down, forced herself not to indulge in petty jealousy.

She had to be like Yosef, who had always trusted her and overlooked so many things.

He had always been so tolerant of her.

Why should she be so small-minded now?

So what if it was Britney?

She was Yosef's wife. They slept in the same bed, doing wonderful things to please each other.

None of that had anything to do with Britney.

At least, the person sleeping in this bed, sleeping next to Yosef, wasn't Britney.

Henrietta quickly adjusted her mindset and even her tone of voice. “I'm not angry. There's nothing to be angry about. This... is a big deal, a very important matter. Since it's such a huge and important project, it must be handled well.”

As a man, and a patriotic one at that, Yosef's sense of duty was stirred when it came to national interests. Hearing her words, he nodded seriously. “I agree.”

Henrietta pressed her lips together slightly and said, “It's a wonderful and honorable thing to be able to contribute to the country.”

Whatever private relationship he and Britney had... she shouldn't have gotten involved.

But she had already asked, and now she knew everything.

Henrietta frowned slightly. After a moment, she still had to ask, “Has she always been so informal with you?”

That affectionate name she had for him…

It sounded so sweet when she said it.

She had assumed everyone called him Mr. Nash. She didn't realize Britney... was an exception.

Yosef paused, his gaze falling on her soft hair. “She's young.”

A tight knot formed in Henrietta’s chest, making it hard to breathe. She remained frozen, unable to utter a single sound.

A few seconds later, she rolled over, turning her back to him. “I'm tired,” she whispered.

With that, she closed her eyes.

Yosef wrapped his arms around her from behind, his large hand resting on her slender waist, his voice deep. “You can call me that too.”

Henrietta's brow furrowed instantly. “I can't call you that. I’m not some wide-eyed girl looking for a ‘Big Brother’ figure.”
