It took an entire day at the Sargent estate to nail down all the wedding details.
Sabrina insisted they stay for dinner, and only after the meal did the couple finally head back to Elysium Manor.
After they showered and climbed into bed, Yosef finally spoke up. "Our wedding is still in the planning stages. Calvert is overseeing the entire operation. Once the preliminary details are set, I'll have him bring everything to you for review."
"Of course, if you find it too exhausting, you don't have to lift a finger. Your only job is to be the most stunning bride on the big day."
That was Yosef's true intention. Planning a wedding was notoriously stressful and draining.
Sabrina had already handled the broad strokes for Quinton's wedding, yet hashing out the mere details still devoured their entire day.
Yosef and Henrietta's wedding was going to be exponentially more extravagant, with a dizzying number of moving parts.
He absolutely refused to let Henrietta burden herself with the petty logistics.
Henrietta arched an eyebrow. "Deal."
Without missing a beat, she instinctively asked, "When are you planning to hold the ceremony?"
They hadn't actually discussed a timeline yet.
Yosef met her gaze. "After your master plan is executed."
Henrietta blinked in surprise. "You mean... my revenge against Matteo and Artina?"
"Yes," Yosef nodded. "That's the perfect timing, isn't it?"
His words sent a sudden, undeniable rush of warmth straight to her heart.
His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering consideration had never wavered.
He was... still so incredible... so utterly flawless.
He had factored in every single angle of her life.
After she executed her plan was indeed the ultimate time to wed.
She would secure her revenge and seamlessly transition into her grand wedding.
She would be glowing under the spotlight, adored and victorious, while those two vile parasites, Matteo and Artina, were dragged to hell, suffering endlessly.
She needed to follow his lead—to actively understand and accommodate his struggles, just as he did hers.
Just like... he had been tirelessly trying to understand and navigate the complicated history between her and Quinton.
Was... that how it was supposed to work?
"Do you think the timing isn't right?" Yosef's voice sliced through her reverie.
"Oh." Henrietta snapped back to reality. "No, it's perfect. Let's do it exactly your way."
Yosef nodded. "Alright."
With that, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tightly against his chest. "Henrietta, I want our marriage to be a happy one. I want... you to be happy by my side. I don't want, nor do I like, anything making you miserable."
Nestled securely in his strong, warm embrace, Henrietta closed her eyes and murmured softly, "Yeah, I know."
Having such a powerful, comforting embrace to rely on was already an incredible gift, wasn't it?
It wasn't about being unable to survive without someone, or suddenly losing her fierce independence. It was just nice to have him.
