When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 369

Simply put, the guy was completely wasted and high out of his mind.

He was entirely devoid of reason.

Seeing a stunning woman, he had zero impulse control.

Henrietta nodded in understanding, while Yosef remained tight-lipped.

The police could run their investigation, and he would run his. Any evidence he found, he would simply hand over to them.

The officer gave a curt nod. "We'll head out for now. We'll contact you if there are any developments."

The police left.

Instead of approaching them, Joaquin slipped into the hospital room.

Perhaps he wanted to avoid a direct confrontation with the couple.

Yosef looked at Henrietta. "I just warned him. If he doesn't listen and continues to harass you, tell me. I'll handle it."

Henrietta paused for a moment before nodding. "Okay, I understand."

She then added, "But right now... we still owe them a favor for this."

Yosef pondered this for a second. "True. What did you have in mind?"

Henrietta shared her thoughts.

Yosef agreed. "That works. I'll call Jethro. As for financial compensation... there's no rush. We can discuss it once he recovers."

That would also give him ample time to complete his own investigation.

"Right," Henrietta said. "Though he did mention he doesn't want money..."

Of course, the Leland family certainly wasn't hurting for cash.

However, this reminded Yosef of a crucial detail.

Why was it Aster who protected Henrietta, and not Joaquin?

Considering this, Yosef voiced his question.

Henrietta hesitated. She held her tongue, choosing not to reveal Aster's strange behavior.

She had already made up her mind; she didn't want to put Yosef in a difficult position over the Leland family just yet.

The issue with Britney's former classmate was already a massive complication... one that involved national interests.

It was no small matter.

She couldn't afford to be selfish.

She needed to look at the bigger picture.

With that settled, the immediate crisis was handled.

Yosef looked at Henrietta. After a two-second pause, he asked, "Should we go say goodbye?"

Henrietta felt a swirl of conflicting emotions, but ultimately nodded. "Yes."

Inside the room, Aster was still out cold, while Joaquin sat in the visitor's chair.

Seeing them enter, he stood up.

He kept his arrogance in check in front of Yosef, appearing somewhat deferential.

He likely felt the need to keep up appearances.

Henrietta spoke up. "Since he's still asleep, we'll be leaving now. I'll arrange for some top-tier nurses to watch over him. I'll come visit again tomorrow."

Joaquin offered no further arguments, simply nodding. "Alright."

Henrietta added, "Yosef has spoken with Jethro. Jethro will send an ambulance tomorrow afternoon to transfer Aster to his facility for recovery. He's the expert, after all."

Joaquin nodded again. "Whatever you arrange is fine."

Surprisingly, he had dropped all his usual swagger.

Henrietta maintained a neutral expression. She gave a curt nod in response and turned to leave.
