Yosef glared at him coldly. "Mr. Leland. You really do have some nerve."

Joaquin remained silent.

Yosef continued, "I figured you were just throwing a temporary tantrum. I didn't expect you to keep harassing my wife."

Joaquin pulled out a cigarette and smiled. "Mr. Nash, we just saved Ms. Sargent."

He offered the cigarette to Yosef.

Yosef didn't take it, completely ignoring the gesture. His voice was ice. "I'll find out for myself whether this was a genuine rescue. You better hope you're smart, Mr. Leland, and that you covered your tracks. Because if I find anything..."

Joaquin pulled his hand back and lit the cigarette himself. "You suspect I orchestrated this."

Not wanting to waste breath, Yosef delivered a flat warning. "I'm telling you one last time to know your limits. Or do you really think Britney can protect you?"

Joaquin arched a brow. "Did Ms. Sargent complain about me?"

Yosef paused.

He suddenly realized something.

Henrietta had actually never mentioned a word of this to him.

It seemed she had been deliberately keeping it from him.

Yosef sidestepped the question. "Given my history with Britney, I won't drive the Leland family into bankruptcy. However... I can certainly make things very difficult for you."

"If you want to sever all future ties with the Y-N Group, or if you'd prefer to bleed billions of dollars every year, by all means, keep strutting into my wife's office."

"Since you're so eager to play games, let's see if you can beat me at them. And don't assume I'll always back down just because of Britney."

Yosef replied coldly, "What happens between my wife and me is none of your business."

Joaquin fell silent.

Yosef turned and walked toward Henrietta.

Joaquin took a drag of his cigarette and chuckled to himself, muttering, "I wonder if her world would shatter if she found out you have no feelings for her at all. Would she still want to stay with you?"

He spoke the words quietly.

It was as if he was waiting to watch the ensuing drama unfold, ensuring Yosef couldn't hear him.

By the time Yosef reached them, Henrietta and Winona had finished giving their statements.

The officer explained, "The attacker's blood alcohol level was way over the limit, and he tested positive for drugs. Our preliminary assessment is that this was a random, unprovoked assault."
