Chapter 113
Chapter 113
Demetra Pride Covenant.
Contd
“I’ll have you know that almost every woman in this building tonight has come over to offer me a lap dance.” He picks up his glass. “So I was actually prepared to believe you were gonna offer that… less thief, more lap dance volunteer. Then you told me it was a dare.”
“Such ego.” I say and he takes it light–heartedly.
“Well, I said no to the others. I was gonna say yes to you. Buy you a drink and tell me you can give me that lap dance.”
“So you thought I was not a thief, but what gave out that I had the talent to give you a lap dance? Mr… Violet?
He hides whatever his face does next behind the rim of his glass, but I catch the shape of it. I already know the answer to my own question, honestly. I’ve known since I had Amira that motherhood redistributed my body in ways that I pretended to be neutral about. I am also very aware of the way Emris‘ gaze drops for approximately half a second to my bum every single time I walk past him. Men are transparent in ways they genuinely believe they aren’t.
“Anyway.” I straighten in my seat, reaching for my purse. “I guess I’ve made it clear. We don’t have to continue this conversation.”
“Hmm. Strict.” He says and the club light shifts across him. I notice something. Or I think I notice something. The tattoos along his forearm, for just a fraction of a second they seem to
move.
My heartbeat does something irregular and that makes me decide it’s time to end this conversation.
“I should go find my friends-” I start to stand.
“I have never,” he says, in a voice that doesn’t rise in volume but somehow increases in presence, “had a woman not want to talk to me. What is
your name?”
“I already made myself clear about—”
I stop.
Something happens.
I don’t have a better word for it…something just happens, between one breath and the next.

like a hand reaching into my chest and adjusting the settings on something without my permission. I’m looking into his eyes and they are changing. The impossible violet bleeds at the edges, and from the center comes a yellow that doesn’t belong in a nightclub in Georgia.
It is something that pulls and shuts my wolf DOWN.
I feel my own thoughts go quiet in a way I can’t fight.
Every instinct I have is being rearranged by a frequency I can’t hear, and all that’s left is the sense to do whatever he asks me next!
That whatever he says, I am going to do!
That the word no exists somewhere in my vocabulary but I cannot currently locate it-
I just have to do whatever he asks.

It’s compulsion.
A trait of Lycans. A feature that makes them overpower one’s wolf and put them into a state of submission where everything and anything they command is done.
Wolves…especially omega wolves cannot control it. It breaks will until there is nothing left but submission.
Activated by a look…a direct gaze from his Lycanic wolf to hers. Mr violet has centuries of evolution pressing down against Demetra like a hand flat against water.
It reaches past her conscious mind entirely and speaks directly to the animal underneath, rewiring instinct at the source. An omega wolf caught in a lycan’s compulsion doesn’t choose to obey. The choice is simply removed…
“My name is Demetra.”
“Hmm.” Lyc smiles, watching what she looks like when she obeys. The way her shoulders soften. The way her hands unclench. The way her whole body relaxes into the command…
He wouldn’t have had to use it.
That’s the honest truth of it… compulsion isn’t something he reaches for casually cause really…think about it, it’s not ethical.
But she was about to leave-
Like really? How was she already pushing her chair back, so completely uninterested in a with his beauty. That shit caught him somewhere he didn’t expect.
19:36 Mon, May 18 DOM Chapter 113
He has been in Georgia for nearly six months. He has wanted things from him, who angled their bodies toward him and laughed too brightly and
at in rooms full of women who made sure he noticed. Not a single one of them had made his pulse change.
This one had walked toward him on a dare she hadn’t even wanted to take, told him so to his face with complete honesty, and then tried to leave.
What an ego, she’d said.
He’d wanted to know more. He’d wanted to know everything, actually, which is the more alarming part of this.
Fuck it, he was completely certain she wasn’t going to give him any of it voluntarily. So he’d done what he does when the alternative is losing something before he’s had a chance to understand why he wants it.
He feels slightly terrible about it.
Only slightly.
“Demetra is a pretty name.”
Lyc pouts powerfully at how cute she looks, obeying him.
He has been to cities all over the world yet has never had an electric meeting like this one. He wishes, distantly, that she was the type to be all over him… at least then he’d know what to do with this.
A one–night stand would be damn amazing.
But Lyc thinks she’s too graceful looking for that.
Demetra might be wearing clothes that give off sexy but he can tell that she has morals. There’s something behind her eyes even now that tells him she’s not the kind of woman who does this. Who follows strange men into dark rooms or lets anyone touch her.
“Let’s go somewhere quieter,” he says, and offers her his hand.
Demetra takes it.
He finds a side corridor off the main floor which is narrow, the music is reduced to a muffled thrum behind the walls. Private enough. He guides her against the wall and turns to face her, close enough that he can hear her properly now, can see the details of her face without the strobing club light distorting everything.
“Calm down, Demetra. I want you to relax. It’s just me…just breathe.”
Because it is a command delivered directly to her wolf, her body obeys. He watches her heart

rate decelerate…he can hear it, has always been able to hear it.
“What are we doing here?”
“I don’t normally compel women,” he says, and he means it, and he wants her to know he means it even though she’s in a state where she can’t fully hold him accountable for it yet.
“I couldn’t let you leave without knowing something about you. Forgive me for it.”
The door behind him opens suddenly and the movement pushes him forward, closing the remaining space between them.
The people who opened the door mutter apologies and keep it moving.
His chest meets her hand, which she’s placed there on instinct, and he doesn’t step back. He’s close enough now to catch the full depth of her perfume at the source, sitting in the curve of her neck and it does something to his concentration.
Something that he hasn’t experienced in long enough that he’s almost forgotten the sensation.
“Can I…kiss you, Demetra?”
He asks it…the distinction matters to him in this moment, matters enough that he waits, that he holds the space open for whatever answer comes back.
All of a sudden, Lyc hears Demetra’s heartbeat pick up again which shouldn’t be happening,
something that
because he commanded her to calm down, and compulsion doesn’t fail on?
simple unless there is a reason that goes deeper than the command.
His eyes drop to her face.
“No.” Her voice is quiet but it’s hers. “I have a mate.”
Oh.
Lyc processes this.
This bastard processes it for approximately two seconds and then the possessiveness arrives!
AN entirely irrational given that he met this woman twenty minutes ago. A mate. Someone who has already placed a claim on her, someone she belongs to in the oldest and most absolute way wolves understand belonging.
Someone who he decides with zero evidence and complete conviction….to not be good enough for Demetra. Someone who he’s sure is unequal to him as her mate.
Which is, objectively, an insane conclusion to reach.
Chapter 113
It doesn’t stop him from reaching it.
“Kiss me, Demetra.” The compulsion enters back into his voice. “Kiss me in the way you’d kiss your mate. Touch me in the way you touch your mate. Moan in the way you would moan for your mate. Now.”
He sees her lips part as his compulsion takes hold. Her eyes dilate with pleasure as if she’s recognizing him as her mate.
Demetra raises both hands and holds his face so carefully…Lyc feels like he’s floating.
In his entire life, he has never had someone look at him like that-
And she brings his mouth down to him.
The kiss is electric.
That is the only word Lyc has for it.
Demetra brings her chest so close to him that he can feel every softness, every breath…her body melts in a way she would do with Emris, pressing into him…
The charge of the kiss goes through Lyc’s spine to somewhere that makes him grip the wall beside her head.
Lyc keeps his eyes open because he wants to see her.
He bites her lips gently and Demetra makes a sound against his mouth. Delicious. The taste of her and the warm pressure of her body…
Something irreversible is happening to his nervous system.
She releases his mouth and then, before he can recalibrate, she kisses the corner of it just like
she’s teases Emris.
Demetra pushes Lyc to the door and walks him into it without hurry.
She lifts onto her toes to kiss him again. This time, he shuts his eyes at how delicious, how warm her tongue is, how feverish, how scented she is. When he lifts his lips to kiss the column of her throat, he sees a bite-
A mating mark.
A mate’s claim, pressed into her skin by someone else’s teeth-
Something cold moves through him. It goes by the name fury.
“Lyc.” Eva’s voice comes through the door urgently. “We have to go. He’s here.”

Chapter 113
Lyc’s eyes snap wider.
Now, he knows he has to leave immediately!
Lyc takes Demetra’s face in both hands and looks directly into her eyes.
“When you see your mate, you reject him. Do you understand me?”
He watches the command land.
She nods.
“Where do you live-”
“Lyc! There’s no time. Just get her phone… call your number so you can save hers or something. We need to move right now!”
Eva takes Demetra’s purse. Opens and unlocks it with Demetra’s face.
Lyc looks at Demetra’s face again… he doesn’t even want to let her go.
But his enemy just walked into the club.
