Chapter 54
Demetra.
“Get up.
Tiffany walks into my bedroom while I’m typing away on my bed with my reading glasses on, oversized t–shirt, and a soul so angry it’s basically a hazard zone. When I came back home, I could practically see steam burning off my head, and reading work contracts is supposed to cool it off.
I’ve had matchas to burn it out too, but I doubt it’s gonna save me from getting up from this bed and storming straight to Black Covenant pack house next!
I want to tell someone. I want to be a spoilt Alpha’s daughter and tell Dad to march toward their pack and drag Elena through filth. I want to do something dirty to her. I really want to. I’m thinking of plans, ways to punish her for what she’s actively doing to my daughter, and it feels like it would never be enough. Not even close.
“Get up!”
“Tiffany, please…
“OMG! You are literally in your twenties, acting like a single mom breaking her back for five kids. Get up and live life.”
“I told
you
what Elena did to Amira.”
Tiffany puts her hands on her hips. “And that’s why I asked Teddy to come out tonight so we can go out, talk about it. Teddy lives in that pack house with her…if we wanted to get back at her, this is how-”
“I don’t wanna drag Teddy into the mess!”
I get up and fling my laptop onto the sheets, and the anger I swore I had under control a few minutes ago comes roaring back like someone opened a fire hydrant. I don’t even know where I’m going. I just stomp toward my closet, then pause halfway, spinning back to face her.
“Plus I’m not about to just do a little shit to make her pay back. I mean full–on payback. Enough to make her get off her high horse and never get back on it. Enough to make her cry, go on her knees and beg for forgiveness. Enough to make her never be able to use the words Luna and Black Covenant Pack in the same sentence again. That’s how bad I’m raging, Tiffany.”
“How in the world are you gonna do that? She’s literally the Luna of the Black Covenant Pack.”
I look away from her face because I know exactly how I was going to do that. I’m Emris’s mate for that reason.
“Don’t tell me-
Tiffany is a good face reader, and I guess she reads it.
“I stopped you from saying you are Emris’s mate because I knew those ladies wouldn’t hear a word you said. They would have called you a liar—”
“Wait. Sabrina told me about what Elena did to someone who once insulted her about her and Emris not sharing the same bedroom. According to Sabrina, Regan and Elena both destroyed that Luna’s reputation. She’s already doing that to me. She’s doing it to Amira too. Shouldn’t I give her a taste of her own medicine?”
I croak in anger, and Tiffany’s eyes widen. She closes the space between us and puts both her hands on my cheeks with the
face of oh no.

Chapter 54
“Are you about to do what I’m thinking? But… but…
but you hate Emris.”
Shit. I’ve not told her what Emris and I have done. I bite my lip and groan before sitting down on the couch that’s a bit far away from my bed. Okay, I’ll just say it. I’ll just tell Tiffany. She’s not scary like Slade or even… Eden. She’s not going to kill
“We’ve slept together already.” I say into the space between us, and she screams.
I raise my hands to count how many times it occurred between me and Emris, and she screams again.
Tiffany rushes to grab a pillow from my bed and shoves her whole face into it, screaming so loud it’s muffled but still rattling my windows. She stomps her feet like she’s putting out a fire, spins in a circle then stops dead still and stares at me like I’m a squirrel that just stole her last brain cell. Her eyes are wild and she’s clutching that pillow like it owes her money before raising it up, about to smack me with it.
“Don’t hit me!” I beg.
“What–you–what–what–what–what–what-” She stands there, pillow raised, sputtering like a broken engine.
“The first time… I… it started with a kiss.”
“Where!?” She drops the pillow slightly.
“I’m embarrassed, I can’t say it. But…but the second time it was here. In my bedroom. The night of the last day of Alpha Fest. Tiffany… I…
I’m still hoping she doesn’t hit me as I flinch, so I get up and snatch the pillow from her and hold it to my chest.
“Eden caught us on Amira’s birthday. Eden and Teddy know. And Silver… Emris’s brother.”
“SO I’M THE LAST PERSON TO KNOW!?”
“Of course not! Listen-“I grab her and make her sit with me, making sure there’s nothing in her hands first.
“You and Emris. You and Emris… slept with each other. The first time is a mistake, the second time is what!?”
“The second time is me… my face.
trying to stop him from killing Slade on the Alpha Fest night… which turned into… desire…” I hide
“Oh.” Tiffany’s face goes pink, and that’s actually scarier than when she was about to beat me with a pillow. “So he still has it like that for you?” She smiles, and it’s a dangerous smile.
“Ummmm.”
“He was trying to kill Slade but then decided to ride
you
instead?”
I choke.
“He was ready to spill blood but then chose to spill something else?”
I cover my face to die.
“Let me get this straight…he had murder on the brain and you on his train.”
“TIFFANY!”

Chapter 4
“What! I’m just trying to understand the timeline! So he went from I’m gonna end Slade to I’m gonna end inside this
woman?
“Moons, I’m already ashamed of myself. And now I have to work in his house and it’s not easy. And he’s telling me things…that are getting to me. I’m not the same person I was when I first came back to this state anymore, Tiffany.”
“What is he telling you?”
“That he and Elena don’t have a relationship. That they slept together one night when he was drunk, mourning the loss of me… my scent was in his sheets and that’s how Milo was conceived. He made her Luna for Milo. There’s an ongoing rumour that they don’t sleep in the same bedroom, have you heard that?”
“Yeah. I have.” Tiffany says. “So what… since that time, an Alpha like Emris has not had a woman in his bed? Not even another woman… if not Elena. He has spent those years, just like you, through heats and full moons… all on his own.”
“I don’t know what to believe.” I tuck my lips in and snap my fingers until it makes a sound.
“If you wanted to know that, it’s easy.” Tiffany gets up with a scoff. “How was he when you two slept together?”
I know the question. The answer lives in my skin now.
Raw. Rough. Hungry. Tears in his eyes. Power in his thighs. Him shaking. Like I was the first meal he’d had in years. Like he was starving and I was the only thing that could fill him.
“Oh.” Tiffany’s voice goes soft. “He was hungry, wasn’t he? And there you have your answer.” She bends down and touches my
nose.
“Are you not upset with me?” I ask.
“You’re mates. It’s possible. Plus, you’d be kicking yourself already. I know better than to do that to you.”
“And am I a bad person for deciding to use the bond I have with Emris to destroy Elena?” I whisper the next thing.
“Your plan is to get them to divorce? To make him remove her as Luna of the Black Covenant Pack, then what else?” Tiffany looks confused.
“Make him reject me.” I say defensively.
“You really think he won’t sweep you off your feet? You think you can be like how he was in the past? Give him your body but not your heart? You’re not him.”
“I can. If there was any other way I thought would make Elena go insane, I would do it but… there isn’t. The only thing Elena really cares about is her being Emris’s Luna, so that’s what I want to take!”
“You know I’m gonna support you.” Tiffany’s voice drops. “I’m just telling you the risk. He’s not some random guy, Demetra. He’s your mate. That bond doesn’t care about your revenge plot. It does what it wants.”
“I know.”
“Do you?”
I don’t answer that again.
“Well, you’ll succeed. You’ve literally already got the Alpha’s girth on your side.”
