"Who is it?" Sherilyn couldn't help but ask.
"Nadia Newman." Blake couldn't hold it in any longer and blurted out the name. "Have you heard of her?"
"..."
Sherilyn was momentarily stunned. "Yes, of course."
Everyone had.
She might be relatively new to the industry, but with how fast information traveled online, the name of the legendary screenwriter Nadia Newman was practically household knowledge.
Ms. Newman had been in the business for decades. Every single script that came from her desk turned into a massive, record-breaking hit.
There wasn't a single actor in the industry who didn't dream of landing a role in one of her projects.
Because of her immense reputation, Ms. Newman held absolute authority over her productions.
Whether you were an A-list director or a heavily backed nepo-baby, if she didn't approve of you, you weren't getting the part. Period.
Hearing Blake mention her name, Sherilyn was genuinely in awe of him.
"Director Blake, did you seriously manage to land me an audition for Ms. Newman's new project?"
"I wish I could take the credit for that!"
Blake laughed, absolutely thrilled. "Ms. Newman's team reached out to us first!"
It turned out that after watching the premiere of their new drama, Nadia had been highly impressed by Sherilyn's performance and had her team contact the studio directly.
"Ms. Newman said she wants to meet you in person."
"Wow, that's..." Sherilyn was at a loss for words, a wave of excitement crashing over her.
Just catching Nadia Newman's eye was an impossible feat, but to have her actively reach out?
"Haha."
Blake laughed warmly. "You're nervous, aren't you? I'm nervous too... but mostly just thrilled! Don't worry. Ms. Newman is known for being strict, but you're a newcomer. Even if she critiques you and it doesn't work out, there's absolutely no shame in that."
"You're right. I know," Sherilyn chuckled.
She was still struggling to process the monumental news.
Blake continued, "I'll coordinate with Ms. Newman's schedule and figure out a time. I'll let you know as soon as it's locked in."
"Sounds perfect. I'll follow your lead."
...
Two days later, following the details Blake had texted her, Sherilyn headed out to meet him before heading to their appointment with Nadia.
