"Nanson?" Sherilyn stepped into the elevator.
"Sherilyn." Nanson offered a warm smile. He was alone this time.
"When did you get back in town?"
Sherilyn feigned annoyance, teasing him gently. "Didn't I tell you to call me as soon as you got back? We agreed I'd take you out to dinner."
"I just got back recently."
Nanson chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Things have been a bit hectic. I haven't had a chance to reach out to anyone yet."
The real reason was that, at his age, he felt a bit awkward letting a young woman treat him to dinner.
"It's my fault too."
Sherilyn easily picked up on his polite excuse. "I should have been the one to check in... Oh, right..."
She remembered Blake standing next to her.
She quickly introduced them. "Nanson, this is my boss, Director Blake... Blake, this is my friend, Mr. Cooper. He's a lawyer."
"Nice to meet you."
"Ah, Mr. Cooper! Good to meet you."
"Blake, this is the lawyer who helped me out with that dress issue last time..."
"Ah! Thank you so much... we owe Mr. Cooper a lot for that!"
While Blake voiced his gratitude enthusiastically, he silently noted that even if this lawyer hadn't intervened, Mr. Harrison had already stepped in to resolve it.
Sherilyn really had incredible luck...
She always seemed to have powerful men rushing to her rescue!
"No problem at all."
Nanson had an appointment to get to. He was there on business, and as the elevator dinged at his floor, he stepped out.
"Nanson." Sherilyn held up her phone. "I'll call you to set something up."
"Sounds good."
...
That evening, back at Starfall Drive.
After settling in, Sherilyn finalized the time and place for dinner with Nanson.
She chose a highly-rated private restaurant.
Gilbert had brought her there in the past. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfectly upscale and discreet.
