The woman tossed her voluminous waves as she spoke, her red lips curving into a flirtatious and seductive smile.
Logan Lennox remained silent.
The woman continued, "I'm Lola. How about we exchange numbers?"
"Sure." Logan pulled out his phone.
They added each other's contacts.
Sloane Sutton felt a sharp pang of jealousy.
*Hmph.* He could risk his life for her in the woods this morning, but now he couldn't resist a sexy, wealthy woman?
After securing Logan's contact, Lola felt a surge of hope. She continued her seductive posturing. "How about we dance?"
"I don't know how."
"I'll teach you."
Logan said, "Maybe you should ask if my wife is okay with that. She's standing right behind you."
"Your wife?"
Lola turned around and came face-to-face with Sloane.
Sloane felt incredibly awkward.
Logan hadn't even turned his head, yet he knew exactly where she was standing.
He had probably just added Lola's contact to test her reaction.
Lola rolled her eyes at Logan. "What a jerk. You totally used me as a testing stone!"
Then, right in front of Logan, she deleted his contact.
Sloane secretly rejoiced.
But after the fleeting amusement passed, a sudden realization hit her: she would definitely be jealous if he got intimate with another woman.
Logan walked toward her, extending a hand in invitation. "Care for a dance?"
Sloane rolled her eyes at him too. "Neither of us can dance. Did you forget the absolute fools we made of ourselves at that murder mystery party?"
"We might not know ballroom, but surely you can handle a little party dancing?"
An upbeat pop anthem blasted over the lakeside speakers, turning the scene into a chaotic, flailing dance party.
