The two of them became completely intertwined in the tent, their kiss deep and desperate.
Logan tentatively slid his hand around her back, and when she only gave a soft shiver in response, he knew she was ready.
Since she didn't pull away, Logan pressed further.
The rustle of clothing echoed softly in the small space as layers began to shed.
But just as the passion reached its peak, a woman's shrill scream shattered the quiet night.
Logan ignored it, keeping his lips firmly on Sloane's.
Sloane met his intensity, pouring every ounce of her longing into the kiss.
They assumed the woman would eventually quiet down, but the screaming only grew louder—and much closer.
It sounded like the woman had stormed out of her tent and was marching right past theirs, yelling at the top of her lungs: "I'm done with this stupid camping trip! What kind of sick joke is this? Are you trying to force people to sleep together?"
Sloane instantly recognized the voice. It was Lola, the woman who had tried to hit on Logan earlier that evening.
Sloane tried to block it out.
It was rare for her to abandon reason like this. She just wanted to let go and be reckless for once.
But the outside interference was violently killing the mood.
It was like trying to keep a blazing fire alive while a sudden downpour battered it from above. No matter how intense the heat, it was going to die out.
Sloane pulled back.
Logan stopped as well.
But he kept his arms tightly around her, almost as if he was afraid she might bolt.
The argument outside showed no signs of stopping.
Scores of people were unzipping their tents to peek out. Gawking at drama was human nature, after all.
With so many people milling about right outside their fabric walls, Sloane and Logan had no choice but to sit up and hastily straighten their clothes.
They didn't poke their heads out to watch; they just listened to the chaos.
It turned out Lance had tried to initiate intimacy, but Lola had fiercely rejected him.
Lola was shrieking at him. "You really think you're in my league? Do you seriously believe getting a certificate makes me your woman? Did you not see what a pathetic coward you were out in the jungle? I wouldn't touch you if you were the last man on earth."
