She fully admitted she was playing hard to get.
The second she turned around, Logan caught her hand, hauled her against his chest, and leaned down, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. "Sleep in my room tonight."
The raw heat of his voice sent a shiver down her spine, and her knees instantly went weak.
Logan swept her up into his arms, carried her into his bedroom, and dropped her onto his mattress.
Then he followed her down.
The night was anything but peaceful.
Having finally tasted each other, neither could get enough.

The next morning.
Sloane woke up tangled in Logan's arms once again.
Her body felt like it had been run over by a freight train. Every muscle ached, and her legs were so weak she could barely lift them.
Logan gently rubbed her bare shoulder and smiled. "Morning."
Sloane painfully rolled over, refusing to look at him.
"Are you mad?"
"I am never coming into your room again," she grumbled.
"Then I'll come to yours."
"No."
"Were you unsatisfied with my service?"
"Shut up!" Sloane's face burned crimson as she pulled the blanket completely over her head.
A few minutes later, she threw the covers back and swung her legs out of bed.
"Where are you going?"
"To work," Sloane replied as she started pulling her clothes on. "Don't you have to work?"
"I can go if I want to," Logan answered easily.
It was true. His side hustle pulled in more than enough money; his mechanic job was entirely optional at this point.
But Sloane really wanted him to stick with the mechanic job.
"I actually think working at the garage is great," she told him. "It's stable, the hours are normal, and you'd be around to help with the house."
Logan went silent for two full seconds.
In those two seconds, his eyes visibly dimmed.
"You... don't want me taking any more field assignments?"
Sloane nodded firmly. "It's too dangerous."
