Who Knew My Assigned Mechanic Husband Was a Big Shot? novel Chapter 170

"I'm so sorry, Boss, I didn't mean to!"

Logan didn't even care about the burn. He was far more focused on Dustin's reaction. "So you don't believe me either, do you?"

Dustin looked at Logan with deep suspicion. "Boss, I know Dr. Sutton is gorgeous, and I know you saved her life, but you absolutely cannot abuse your military authority to forcefully claim a woman!"

Logan sighed heavily. "Even you don't believe me?"

Dustin shook his head so hard it looked like it might fly off.

From Dustin's perspective, the two of them didn't even have each other's contacts in the beginning—Dustin had been the one communicating with the doctor! Now Logan was claiming they were married?

Sure, the divorce rate was skyrocketing these days, but even divorced couples still had each other's phone numbers.

Who would believe that a supposedly married couple ended up on the same remote island without even recognizing each other?

Frustrated, Logan pulled out his phone, opened a photo of their marriage certificate, and shoved it in Dustin's face.

Dustin stared at the screen. His jaw dropped so low it practically hit the floor, and it stayed there for a very long time.

"Are you... are you two long-lost spouses or something?"

Logan shot him a withering glare. "We're not long-lost. It hasn't even been a month. I only found out she was here after you brought me those apples."

Dustin was still reeling from the shock.

"Then... then why didn't you just contact her directly? Why did you keep making me deliver stuff to her?"

"There's a massive misunderstanding between us," Logan muttered. "And even after I cleared it up, she still completely ignores me."

Dustin clicked his tongue in disbelief.

Major Lennox was handsome, wealthy, built like a tank, and held immense power, yet every woman he actually liked ended up ditching him.

Seeing Dustin's judgmental expression, Logan snapped, "What the hell are you clicking your tongue for? Analyze the situation for me!"

"Analyze what?"

Logan remembered Miles's vicious reprimand. "Did I not care about her enough in the past?"
