Meanwhile.
Tristan York was getting chewed out by Director Arthur York in the director's office.
"You are a grown man! How could you do something so childish?"
"Did you honestly think that pressuring Sloane like this would make her run into your arms? Do you realize you're destroying the hospital's reputation?!"
"Women are attracted to power, you idiot! If you really want a woman to like you, you have to prove you're actually capable!"
Tristan stood there listening, but the words went in one ear and out the other.
Attracted to power?
Is the husband she got assigned stronger than me?
Does he come from a better family?
He knew exactly who Sloane had married. It was just some grease monkey.

Valentine Towers.
Logan stared blankly at the dozen takeout boxes spread across the dining table.
He took a bite of the stuffed eggplant.
Too greasy.
He tried a piece of the sweet and sour pork.
Too sweet.
Finally, he sampled the fried chicken.
Stale.
He missed Sloane's cooking.
But Sloane had been practically living at the hospital for the past two days, prepping for the massive surgery.
Disgusted, Logan gathered up all the expensive takeout he'd just bought and threw it straight in the trash.
He headed to the nearby supermarket and bought fresh ingredients.
Pulling up a cooking tutorial video on his phone, he decided to try making crispy pork strips.
He double-fried them according to the instructions, and to his surprise, they turned out perfectly golden, crispy, and delicious.
Next, he steamed a sea bass, drizzled it with seasoned soy sauce, scattered fresh cilantro and scallions on top, and finished it off with a splash of sizzling hot oil.
He took a bite. The fish was tender, flaky, and packed with flavor. He was impressed with himself.
Finally, he quickly stir-fried some greens with garlic.
Though his heat control wasn't perfect, the vegetables were still vibrant and crisp.
When Logan set everything on the table, he realized that although it was only three dishes, the portions were massive.
There was no way he could finish it all himself.
