After surviving the sheer terror of the morgue, Serena had somewhat adapted to the horror atmosphere and wasn't quite as terrified anymore.
Mustering her courage, she pulled open the creaky doors of an ancient wooden wardrobe.
Without warning, a grotesque, blood-stained doll tumbled out.
She shrieked and fell backward onto her rear.
But as she sat there, a wicked idea formed in her mind.
She quickly shoved the doll back inside, shut the doors, and glanced back at Sloane, who was still clutching onto Logan.
So Sloane was afraid of ghosts, huh?
Time for a little payback.
"Sloane, there's a body in here! I think the clue is on it. Come look!"
Logan answered for her, "We're right behind you. Hey, Serena, wasn't it? Go check under that bed over there. Looks like there's a locked chest."
Serena wasn't afraid of a box, so she immediately scrambled over and crouched down to investigate.
The second she dropped to her knees, a terrifying NPC crawled out from beneath the bed frame, lunging right at her face.
"Ahhh!" Serena screamed, nearly passing out from the shock.
She shot up and glared at Logan. "You dirty grease monkey, you set me up!"
Logan offered a cold smirk. "Weren't you just trying to set us up? I already checked that wardrobe. There's no body in there."
"You... fine, whatever!"
The war between Serena and Logan had officially begun.
From that moment on, finding clues took a backseat. Her sole mission was to scare Logan half to death.
"Hey, grease monkey, look up! There's a corpse hanging right above you!"
Logan didn't even flinch. "Really? Why don't you check behind you first?"
"I'm not falling for that again. There's nothing behind me."
"Are you brave enough to look?"
"Of course I am—" She spun around, only to come face-to-face with a female ghoul sporting a horrific, foot-long tongue.
Serena practically swooned.
Thankfully, Lily was there to catch her before she hit the floor.
Logan shrugged. "I warned you."
A few minutes later, Serena tried to trick Logan and Sloane into entering a pitch-black execution chamber.
