Logan was still reading when he heard the door to the adjacent bedroom creak open.
He assumed Sloane was heading to the kitchen for a glass of water.
He was just about to get up and check on her.
Suddenly, his own doorknob turned.
Sloane stepped into his room, dressed in her pajamas.
The bedside lamp bathed the room in a soft glow, illuminating her face perfectly.
Her expression was blank, her eyes clouded over with the hazy, unconscious stare of someone sleepwalking.
She moved quickly, marching straight up to his bed. Without a word, she threw back his covers and slid right in next to him.
Logan froze in sheer disbelief.
Once under the blankets, she wrapped her arms tightly around his waist and buried her face against his chest, snuggling closer.
He looked down at her delicate features. Her eyelashes were still damp, and the hair framing her face was wet.
She had definitely been crying.
She smelled incredible—the lingering scent of her body wash and shampoo wrapping around his senses.
But no decent man would take advantage of a woman while she was sleepwalking.
Instead, he gently patted her back in a soothing rhythm.
At first, she kept shifting and pressing closer to him, but as he continued to stroke her shoulder, she slowly relaxed.
Once she was fully asleep, she even let out a soft, barely-there snore. The day's events had clearly drained her.
Logan managed to carefully slip his arm out from under her grip. He switched off the lamp and settled back against the pillows.
Against all odds, he finally felt himself drifting off to sleep.

When Sloane woke up, the first thing that hit her was the distinct, masculine scent of a man.
To her absolute horror, she realized she was holding onto that very man for dear life.
One of her legs was draped over his, clinging to him the way she usually clung to her pillows.
She snapped her eyes open, greeted by a ceiling that definitely didn't belong to her bedroom.
She was in Logan's room. And she was cuddling Logan.
Without a doubt, her sleepwalking had struck again.
