Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 226

Zebulon gave no response.

Tiffany spoke at the door for a long time, until her throat was dry, but Zebulon never came out.

Tiffany frowned. She had imagined all sorts of reactions from Zebulon, but not this one.

She hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to get dressed and leave the hotel first.

By the time Carter and the others arrived at the hotel after receiving the news, Zebulon had come out of the bathroom.

He looked like his soul had left his body, showing no reaction even when he saw Carter and the others.

Carter and Jonathan exchanged a look, their worry unconcealed.

"Are you okay, Zebulon? It's obvious you were just drunk. This doesn't count."

"Just explain it to Naomi. She loves you so much, she'll definitely forgive you."

Zebulon shook his head dejectedly. "She won't..."

Carter had never seen his friend like this. He felt a pang of sympathy, but more than that, he was frustrated with him.

In their opinion, Zebulon had brought this entirely upon himself.

If he hadn't been so stubborn and had just treated Naomi well from the start, he wouldn't have ended up in this mess.

But he had stubbornly refused to be the first to yield.

Now that things had escalated to this point, it was no longer about who would give in first.

If their parents found out about this, Zebulon would be in for a serious beating, at the very least.

"Isn't the weekend coming up?"

"Both families haven't given up on setting you two up. You should go with Naomi back to Zion. You can have a good talk then, apologize to her, even write a letter of guarantee. Women are soft-hearted; if you just coax her a little, all her anger will fade away."

A glimmer of light finally appeared in Zebulon's eyes. "Really?"

"Of course, it's true."

"Okay."

"What can we do? We gave him all the advice we could. He brought this on himself."

Carter sighed. "But we can't just stand by and watch something happen to him."

"Let's try talking to Naomi. She loves Zebulon so much, she wouldn't just watch him self-destruct, would she? Besides, they weren't even together, right? Her reacting this strongly must mean she still likes him, doesn't it?"

Carter frowned, not convinced Jonathan's idea would work.

They say the truest departure is a silent one, and Naomi's behavior lately had already made that clear.

It was just Zebulon himself who couldn't accept that Naomi genuinely didn't like him anymore.

If they went to Naomi, they'd probably get an earful.

"We have to at least try." Jonathan immediately dialed Naomi's number.

But no one answered.

Carter suddenly had a thought, his expression complicated. "Do you think... we've been blocked?"
