Carter used his own phone to call and found that, sure enough, he couldn't get through to Naomi either.
As expected, they had both been blocked.
Jonathan let out a frustrated laugh. "These two, they're both so dramatic."
"We all live in the same neighborhood. Do they really have to make things this ugly? Won't it be awkward when they see each other?"
Carter hesitated to speak.
He wanted to say that after what Zebulon pulled, Naomi probably wanted to move out altogether.
In the end, Zebulon had gone too far, and now there was no way to fix it.
"Forget it, let them sort it out themselves. I'm done. Seriously, it was a match everyone approved of, a rare pairing of equals, and he just had to ruin it. If it really falls through, Zebulon will have to deal with the consequences himself. I've done all I can."
Jonathan snorted. "Then let's just let nature take its course."
The two put away their phones and hurried to catch up with Zebulon.
...
Naomi had indeed blocked the others.
She saw this incident as a clear signal. There was no need for her to inform anyone; from now on, they would be strangers when they met.
Even if she had to put on an act in front of their parents, she wouldn't slip up. It would just be an unspoken understanding among them.
Patricia, who had watched Naomi block them, excitedly wanted to take Naomi out for a drink, saying they had to celebrate her complete transformation.
"This is your new beginning, Naomi! We have to celebrate properly!"
Naomi didn't think there was much to celebrate, but she couldn't stand Patricia's constant nagging and finally agreed.
She took Naomi to a quiet lounge and then called Luther to join them.
Naomi glared at Patricia. "What are you doing?"
