Chapter 25
How could a child possibly lie? Then why he never listened to Aurora?
Why he repeatedly accused Aurora of lying?
Why he scolded Aurora for dishonesty, calling her a liar at such a young age?
Why he blamed her for being a bad child?
Why he had double standards!
The only time Aurora lied was to wait for her father who stood her up. She paid the price.
In his eyes, Aurora was nothing when compared to Ayla’s pup.
My eyes burned with anger as I glared at Lucian, coldly questioning, “Lucian, Willow is a child. What about my Aurora?”
“How could Aurora compare with Willow!” Lucian’s words made my eyes ice over.
This was what he was thinking about. In his heart, his beloved’s pup was always the perfect one.
So Ayla’s daughter Willow was flawless. And my Aurora, like me, was terrible.
My heart ached, as if it were about to tear. I laughed bitterly, a painful sound.
I was laughing but my heart felt as if being cut by a sharp knife. I stared at Lucian and said slowly, “That’s right. Willow is nothing compared to my Aurora!”
Willow spun lies. She knew how to frame others at such a young age. How could she compare to the well-behaved Aurora? I felt sorry for Aurora.
My baby loved her dad so much.
In her father’s heart, there was only Willow, born to Ayla, and not a single bit of space for her.
My heart ached, my eyes burning.
I pitied my daughter. “Lucian, with a father like you, Aurora in heaven…” Just as I mentioned Aurora’s death, Ayla suddenly grabbed Lucian’s arm.
Looking at her red, swollen hand, she cried anxiously, “Lucian, will my hand be alright? What if I can never draw designs again? I am so scared right now.”
Lucian’s attention shifted immediately. He didn’t hear my last words. Looking at Ayla’s hand, he comforted her gently, “Nothing will happen to you. Let’s go to the infirmary. Don’t worry.”
Lucian scooped Ayla into his arms and walked out.
Willow obediently held onto Lucian’s clothes and followed.
As he passed me, Lucian said in an icy voice, “You better pray Ayla’s hand is fine, or you will have your
consequences”
Lucian carried Ayla away. I was unaffected. I competed with the other six participants.

Leaving the Bloodstone Altar, I walked aimlessly on the street when a motorcycle sped towards me.
I saw it but didn’t move. I stood still, watching the rider skillfully park sideways in front of me.
The man cut through the night like a blade, his motorcycle growling beneath him like a caged beast. His long, slender legs braced against the machine with effortless control, the leather of his boots creaking as he balanced its weight.
The engine’s rumble quieted to a purr as he killed the ignition, and in the sudden silence, his presence sharpened undeniable, magnetic.
Awakened from betrayal, she plots the ultimate escape.
