Chapter 65
I paused for a moment upon hearing those words.
But in just an instant, the smile in my lips grew even colder.
Lucian said it wasn’t him.
I believed him.
There was no need for Lucian to lie to me.
Because there was no need to.
But…
“Was there any difference?” I sneered and asked in return.
“Seren, what did you want to say?” Lucian’s expression turned cold, and he looked at me with a dangerous gaze.
I didn’t hesitate, “What do I want to say? If not you, then it must be Ayla?”
I ignored Lucian’s anger, standing my ground.
“What about the evidence?” Lucian’s eyes lost the last trace of warmth, as if I had exhausted his already limited patience.
He slowly got up, stood by the bed, and looked down at me. His voice was extremely cold, “Seren, you need to understand that if it weren’t for you making a scene and ruining Willow’s celebration party, Ayla wouldn’t have called my warriors.”
Hearing him mentioning the celebration feast, I breathed even more rapidly, in anger.
I had clearly lost all hope and was completely disappointed with this man.
Knowing him unhesitatingly favoring Ayla without knowing the situation, I became furious.
My heart felt as if someone had tightly clenched it, causing me to feel a sharp pain.
I glared at Lucian with bloodshot eyes and gritted my teeth, saying, “Why did I ruin Willow’s celebration party? It was because of Ayla! She always hated me and she knew very well that my Aurora was already dead…”
“Seren!” Lucian interrupted my words sharply, his gaze extremely cold.
He suddenly reached out and grabbed my arm, pulling me up from the bed.
I had just recovered from a high fever and felt completely exhausted.
Faced with his sudden attack, I struggled helplessly, like a broken doll. I was dragged by Lucian, stumbling and bumping all the way out of the bedroom, to the side door.
Lucian lifted his leg and kicked open the door, pulling me inside.
He held my body steady with one hand, pinched the back of my neck with the other, turned my head, and forced me to scan the surroundings with him as he looked to the side.
Then he slowly lowered his head, his thin lips pressed against my ear, and coldly questioned me, “That day, you dragged me here and told me Aurora’s ashes were placed in this bedroom, Seren. Where are the ashes?”
My voice was hoarse as I turned my head and shouted at Lucian with red eyes, “Aurora was buried, today…”
