Chapter 147 Amber’s Final Confession
Amber’s eyes darted around. “Mark, you’re being cheap.”
“Nine hundred thousand.”
“You-”
“Eighty.”
Amber panicked. “Wait, wait–let’s talk about this.”
Mark looked at her coldly, his voice flat. “You really think you can blackmail Dad? If he cared about whatever you know, you wouldn’t be standing here with your bags.
I’m offering you money because you’ve got nothing left, and as your brother, consider this your last
llowance. Once I walk in there and ask him myself, I won’t have to pay a dime.
Remember–Moore Group is gone. The old man’s retirement? That’s on me now.”
Amber hesitated. For real this time.
This secret was all she had left.
f she didn’t cash it in now, it’d be worthless soon anyway.
And she needed the money. Felix had been ruthless–he didn’t even let her keep her jewelry. Just threw
er clothes out and called it a day.
Her mother was in no shape to help anyone. Eight hundred thousand wasn’t much, but it would keep hem going for a while.
Fine. Keep your secret. Let it rot with you.”
Mark turned and walked away. Didn’t look back.
Mark, wait! Eight hundred. Deal. Don’t go any lower.”
he was genuinely afraid if she said another word, he’d drop it to seven.
he’d learned her lesson. Sometimes you just shut up and take what you can get.
f it weren’t for her running her mouth, her mother’s identity wouldn’t be all over the internet right now.
And she wouldn’t be standing on the street with nowhere to go.
Talk.”
His voice had no warmth left. Just cold.
Mom… think about this.”

Chapter 147 Amber’s Final Confession
Sienna felt something was off. But they needed the money.
A year ago, eight hundred thousand wouldn’t have even registered.
Finished
“If we take it now, he’s going to find out anyway once he talks to your grandpa. At least this way we get something out of it.”
Sienna couldn’t argue with that.
Amber saw Mark getting further away and grabbed Sienna’s arm. They ran after him.
“Mark. I’ll talk.”
“Then talk. All of it. Leave nothing out. If I find out later you lied to me, you won’t like what happens next.”
Amber wasn’t stupid enough to lie. This secret was her only bargaining chip. Pissing him off would be signing her own death warrant.
She took a breath and started.
“Back when the Shaws and the Moores had their falling out, the engagement between Jasper and Nicole got called off.
“When I found out they were planning to run away together, I told Dad.
“He locked Jasper in his room. Jasper begged him, hurt himself trying to get out. Dad didn’t care.”
The jealousy in Amber’s eyes was almost hot enough to burn.
Every time she thought about what Jasper did for Nicole, it ate her alive.
Mark glanced at his watch. “Get to the point.”
“Okay, okay.”
Afraid he’d change his mind, she kept going.
“When Jasper didn’t show, Nicole came looking for him. I had Nina send her to Jenston instead.”
Mark’s jaw tightened.
Every Moore kid had a nanny. Nina had raised Jasper. She was the one person he trusted completely.
So it was her.
“Mom.”
Sienna’s heart dropped. She squeezed Amber’s hand hard, her eyes screaming at her to shut up.
Sending Nicole to Jenston? That alone could get her killed.
Amber flinched at the pain.
Chapter 147 Amber’s Final Confession
“Dad knew. He’s the one who made sure Nina disappeared.
Finisher
“I heard him say it once–when Vincent finally found his daughter and saw what had happened to the Shaw family heiress, he’d be broken.
“And when Jasper saw her married off and miserable, he wouldn’t want her anymore.
“He couldn’t let his perfect heir be distracted by some woman.”
