Chapter 154 Sweet Whispers
They arrived at Imperial Crest Towers.

Elias laid her gently on the bed. Despite his cleanliness obsession, he showed no disgust. Having never taken care of anyone before, he wiped her tired checks softly with warm water.
As night fell, he quietly left the room and lay down on the small bed in his study. A happy smile appeared on his exhausted face.
Being separated from his beloved by just a wall felt like pure happiness to him.
Ring…
He was surprised to see the caller ID–Aaron was still awake so late.
“Dad,” he answered.
“Elias, I’m planning to return to Azure Peak City,” Aaron said.
“Why come back?” Elias asked.
Aaron felt speechless. Is my son really not welcoming me?
“I’m turning seventy. Bring your precious girl with you. I want to meet her–see what the girl you cherish so much looks like,” he said.
Elias suddenly realized his father was already seventy. His tone softened unconsciously.
“What gift do you want for your birthday?”
“I want a bottle of longevity medicine–heart–saving pills,” Aaron replied.
“I’m your son, not a wish–granting pool,” Elias joked.
“Then give me a grandchild soon,” Aaron said.
Elias frowned. Ican’t wait to marry Stella, but having a baby?
Stella is at the perfect age for anything–making her have a baby now will be too cruel.
“I’m too busy,” he said firmly.
He wanted to lift Stella up, let her soar freely for the rest of her life.
Early in the morning, Stella’s biological clock woke her up on time. She opened her eyes slowly, froze for a second, then sat up suddenly.
The darkness made her feel a little flustered.
The door suddenly opened, and a ray of light illuminated the room.

Elias hurried over, sat beside her bed, and opened the electric curtains to brighten the room further.
“Awake?” he asked softly.
Stella looked around, her voice lazy with sleep, gentle. “Is this your room?”
“Yes.” Elias nodded.
“Oh no! I took your bed,” she exclaimed.
She glanced at her clothes–still the same as yesterday. Not only had she taken his bed, but she’d slept in it without showering. How embarrassing!
Elias‘ eyes were filled with tenderness. He gently pinched her nose. “You’re just getting used to your own bed in advance.”
Stella opened her mouth but couldn’t find a retort. A faint blush quickly spread across her pale face.
Elias stroked her cheek affectionately. “Hungry? Get up and have breakfast first.”
“W–where did you sleep last night?” she asked nervously.
Elias‘ lips curved into a mysterious smile, his eyebrows raised. “Guess.”
She froze for a few seconds, her eyes blinking. “The sofa?”
“I wish,” he said teasingly. “Someone clung to my hand and wouldn’t let go last night, so I had to…”
She shook her head firmly. “That’s impossible.”
Even though I’d been tired and the weight on my heart had lifted, I couldn’t have slept that soundly!
He laughed. “Why would I lie to you?”
“S–so you… you slept…”
“Next door,” he said.
Stella blinked, then pulled the quilt over her head instinctively.
DidI sleep well? Did I drool? Did I use him as a pillow?
Ididn’t shower after the long trip–did I smell bad? Help! My reputation is ruined!
Elias smiled dotingly. He pulled her into his arms, gently lifted the quilt, and met her beautiful eyes. He pressed a loving kiss on her forehead.
“In the room next to yours.”
“Huh?”
“I slept in the study–right next to you. Even though you clung to me tightly, we’re not married. I’d never let you take advantage of me,” he said playfully, gently flicking her nose with his index finger.

Stella pouted, her eyes wide. She grabbed his neck and planted a quick, fleeting kiss on his lips.
It was so fast Elias didn’t have time to react–only a soft warmth made his heart race.
“I’ll take advantage anyway,” she said.
