Chapter 18 The Math Genius Revelation
“Math genius?”
Elias frowned slightly.
“Yes, everyone at Azure Peak University is talking about it. Miss Shaw’s reputation as a top student is well- known,” Gideon replied.
Elias‘ thoughts drifted back to years ago.
Stella Shaw!
That name!
He remembered now–the international competition that year.
He’d almost lost to a young girl.
It’s her!
Elias‘ heart raced with excitement. So they’d met long ago.
“When does she have classes?” he asked.
“I’ve already sent her schedule to your phone,” Gideon said.
Elias nodded.
“Mr. Cross, you should rest. Your body-”
His injuries hadn’t healed, and he’d barely slept for days. Now that he’d found his savior, surely he could finally rest.
“Where’s Leo? Why is he taking so long to treat me?” Elias grumbled.
Gideon silently felt sorry for Leo. It was Elias who refused to follow medical advice, not Leo’s fault.
“Mr. Moore said he won’t be coming today. His grandpa is seriously ill, and he needs to go home to be with him. Should I call him over?” Gideon asked.
“No need. Help me find Jasper Moore,” Elias ordered.
As Leo’s best friend, he knew all about the Moore family’s troubles. Jasper Moore had run away from home, and Leo’s grandpa was wracked with guilt. Now on his deathbed, the old man was clinging to life, desperate to see his youngest son one last time.
But Jasper was stubborn–he refused to see his father.
“Got it,” Gideon replied.
“Cancel tomorrow’s meetings) Elias said.

Gideon’s face stiffened.
Another day of skipping work?
The workaholic was ditching responsibilities to play hooky.
Not that Gideon minded–he was dying to see how Elias planned to repay his savior.
Ring!
When Stella saw the caller ID, she smiled faintly.
“Iris.”
“Stella! I’m arriving in Azure Peak City tomorrow night. We’re getting dinner together.” Iris‘ excited voice came through the phone.
I-”
‘I know you’re in Azure Peak City. No excuses,” Iris cut her off.
‘Fine. See you tomorrow night,” Stella agreed.
‘Don’t hang up! I haven’t even asked how you’re doing,” Iris protested.
Stella’s lips curved into a smile. “I’ve finished your new song.”
Wow! I need to reward you for that,” Iris said, pausing for three seconds. “How about I make the Harlow amily go bankrupt?”
She’d once held back because she thought Derek was Stella’s father, only urging Stella to cut ties with her oxic family. But the gossip over the past few days had infuriated her.
What a bunch of monsters!
Thank you, but I-”
Try refusing, and you’ll lose your best friend! Tomorrow night, bye!” Iris hung up before Stella could
inish.
Stella stared at the disconnected call, her eyes crinkling with amusement.
She opened a bottle of juice, took a sip, and gazed into the night, a small smile tugging at her lips.
At Azure Peak Police Station, when Jasmine was released on bail, she threw herself into Silas‘ arms, crying miserably.
‘Silas, please save my parents! Please!” she begged, completely distraught.
‘What did you do? Why are they in custody?” Silas asked.

“It’s Stella! She’s got some big shot backing her up, and she’s using it to destroy us,” Jasmine sobbed.
“Don’t cry. I’ll help you,” Silas said, wiping her tears away. He already had a plan forming in his mind.
The Harlow family might be small, but they still had assets. The Thorne family was facing a financial crisis. -no one outside knew yet, but they needed to act fast. If he could take over the Harlow family’s wealth, it might save his family.
He thought of Stella’s stunning face, and a wave of resentment washed over him.
“Silas?” Jasmine called, pulling him back to the present.
“Don’t cry. I’ll hire the best lawyers for your parents,” he promised.
“I’m so lucky to have you,” Jasmine said, hugging him tightly.
“I’ll take you home to rest,” Silas said.
“Silas, Iris is coming back to Azure Peak City tomorrow. Are we still going to pick her up at the airport?” Jasmine asked.
“Of course,” Silas replied.
Jasmine was also Iris‘ fan, but with everything happening to her family, she had no desire to go. She was annoyed by Silas‘ nonchalant attitude, but she didn’t dare argue.
“Jasmine, if you don’t want to go, you can stay home and rest,” Silas said, pretending to be considerate.
In truth, he didn’t want her along–she always held him back.
