Tess was exasperated. It was pure trouble out of nowhere.

Stella’s brow tightened, thinking over the day’s events. “Tess, look into Nadia Corbin for me. Try to get a sample of hers if you can.”
“Her? Who do you suspect she is?”
Tess was confused, then added, “Good guy or bad guy?”

“That’s tricky. Someone like her… I might not be able to get one politely.”
“Just do your best.”
Tess sighed. “I’ll try. Later!”
Stella hung up and headed for the bathroom. Before she could touch the door, a strong hand pulled her inside.
Warm water poured over her head, soaking her hair.
A fiery kiss heated the entire room in an instant.

She kissed him quickly on the lips.
Frederick held the back of her head and kissed her deeply, only letting go long after.

Tess cupped his face and kissed him. “That’s my smart man.”
Frederick made a call.
Moments later, his assistant came in and said Nadia would attend a jewelry auction that afternoon.
