The Heiress With Seven Secret Identities
Chapter 301 Life Is Full of Goodbyes
Liam and Chloe nodded obediently.
“Elias, take the kids home first,” Jasper said.
Elias nodded. “Jasper, we’ll head out now.”
“Drive carefully.” Jasper replied.
Chloe waved. “Bye, Grandpa!”
Liam slung two schoolbags over his shoulder and waved too.
As soon as they left, Jasper gestured for Stella to sit.
“Stella, life is full of goodbyes,” he said gently.
“Dad…”
“I know this is heavy, but I need to talk about some things beforehand.”
Stella’s nose tingled, and her eyes glistened with tears.
“If I’m gone, don’t cry, my girl. When you miss your mom and me, look up at the sky. Mom is the sun, and I’m the moon. We’ll always be with you.”
“Dad!” Tears rolled down Stella’s cheeks.
Jasper wiped them softly. “Don’t cry, Stella. Daddy’s here.”
“You’ll be okay,” she insisted.
“Stella, it’s time for me to keep a promise,” he said.
Stella opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Jasper smiled kindly, patting her head. “Don’t be sad.”
She nodded, her throat tight with emotion.
“I tried my best to make up for lost time, to be a good father. But looking back, I still wasn’t enough said with a bitter laugh, his eyes reddening.
“Dad, you’re the best father to me,” Stella said firmly.
Jasper’s face softened into a warm smile–just like the dashing young man he’d once been.
“Rest for a bit,” she urged.
He shook his head. “Let’s talk, father and daughter.”

Stella nodded.
“I promised Chloe I’d be there for all her big moments. I’m afraid I’ll break that promise,” he said.
Over the past month, he’d felt dizzy and fatigued.
I’m afraid…
“Stella, never let the kids down. Spend as much time with them as you can,” he said.
“I will,” she replied.
Jasper patted her head. “People used to call me Mr. Moore, and it never mattered. But when they say ‘Stella Shaw’s father,‘ I’m so proud. I don’t deserve that honor, but I cherish it. The more respect I get because of you, the more my heart aches for how hard you’ve had it.”
“Dad, since I found you, my life has been free of suffering,” Stella said.
Jasper nodded. “I can’t protect you forever, but I’ve laid a path for you. I hope you’ll never need it–just live happily.”
“Dad?” Stella looked confused.
“I set up a trust fund and left you assets. No matter what happens, my daughter will never want for anything,” he explained.
Stella’s tears fell onto his hand with a soft plop.
‘Don’t cry. Daddy’s here,” he whispered.
She nodded.
Jasper wiped her tears calmly. “When the time comes, bury me with your mother.”
Stella couldn’t speak–she just nodded in agreement.
Jasper smiled. “Don’t worry about me. Go do what you do best. They need you more.”
He meant the patients fighting illnesses without cures.
“Dad, I want to stay with you these days,” Stella said.
“But-”
She squeezed his hand gently. “You wouldn’t send me away, would you?”
She wasn’t good at being affectionate, but it felt natural now.
“Dad, I don’t want to work overtime anymore,” she said.
“Then don’t,” he replied.
Father and daughter smiled at each other, lifting the heavy mood in the room.
