Chapter 303 Serenity Under the Blossoms
They had been such a perfect couple, yet fate had dealt them such a tragic hand.
“Vincent, let’s play a game of chess,” Jasper said.
“Sure,” Vincent replied.
For a moment, it felt like they were back decades ago.
“Grandpa, Great–Grandpa, fruit time!” Chloe’s soft voice rang out.
Jasper and Vincent froze, then looked up together.
“What’s wrong? Is there something on my face?” Chloe tilted her head, confused.
“No, nothing,” Jasper said, regaining his composure and patting the seat beside him. “Come sit with me.”
“I’ll make you coffee,” Chloe offered.
She had taken coffee–making classes and brewed the drink skillfully.
Jasper and Vincent exchanged a look. No words were needed–they both missed the same person.
Soon, the other elders joined them in the yard.
Relatives and friends chatted and laughed, enjoying the peaceful moment.
“Vincent, we’re truly blessed to have such a big, happy family,” Aaron said, his eyes crinkling with joy.
Vincent watched the children playing and smiled, his earlier sadness fading.
‘Stella, try these fresh pastries,” someone called.
Stella picked one up, took a bite, and smiled in satisfaction. “Delicious.”
‘Really? Let me have one too,” Elias said.
Stella grabbed a pastry and popped it into his mouth.
“Yep, sweet,” he said, grinning at her.
The two smiled at each other, their love evident.
Leo, sitting nearby, felt like the air was thick with sweetness.
He looked away, only to see Kenneth and Iris deep in conversation, whispering occasionally with happy
smiles.
He lay back, then noticed Frederick and Tess on a ladder, picking fruit for Liam and Chloe
Even picking fruit felt like a display of affection.

They’ve been married for so long–why do they still act like newlyweds?
“Feeling a little jealous?” Mark asked, sitting down beside him.
“No.” Leo replied.
“If you don’t want to be single, do something about it,” Mark urged.
“I’m content with my life now,” Leo said.
Mark shook his head. He’d tried to persuade his son, but it was no use.
In the end, everyone gathered for a family feast.

Time flew by, and a month passed in the blink of an eye.
Jasper lounged on a patio chair in the yard, enjoying the gentle breeze and the scent of flowers.
“Dad, I made you fresh coffee,” Stella said, placing a mug beside him.
Jasper sat up slowly. “Thanks. Be careful–it’s hot.”
He smelled the coffee and smiled warmly. “You’ve mastered my secret recipe, Stella.”
Stella smiled and picked up a sketchpad nearby.
It showed a young couple embracing under a cherry blossom tree.
She knew it was the dream–and regret–of her father’s life.
“Stella, paint with me one more time,” Jasper said.
“Okay,” she agreed.
Whenever she needed to calm her mind, her father would paint with her.
Together, they created a landscape painting.
“Stella, this is for you,” Jasper said, handing it to her.
“Thank you, Dad,” she replied.
He stroked her head gently. “May you see the beauty of the world–explore, conquer, and embrace all lite
has to offer.”
“I will.” Stella nodded.
Jasper reluctantly pulled his hand away, gazing at her with loving eyes.
“Dad, it’s getting windy. I’ll get you a blanket,” Stella said.

“Go ahead,” he replied.
As she walked away, Jasper watched her back, not taking his eyes off her until she disappeared.
Stella, this time, I really must keep my promise.
He lay back on the chair, looking at the sketch of the couple under the cherry tree, a smile tugging at his lips.
“Grandpa, I’m home!” Chloe’s voice pulled him back to the moment.
“Grandpa, will you read me a novel?” she asked.
“Of course,” Jasper said, opening the book. His voice was soothing to hear.
Liam and Chloe sat beside him, resting their chins in their hands, listening intently.
Stella returned with a blanket and draped it gently over him.
She refilled his coffee mug with a warm brew. “Dad, your coffee.”
“Thank you,” Jasper said.
He continued reading, his voice filling the yard. The only other sound was the rustle of the wind.
The wind picked up, swirling cherry blossom petals through the air.
Jasper paused, smiling as he looked at the scene.
“Stella, I want to hear you play the violin,” he said.
“Okay,” she replied.
Stella played under the cherry tree while Liam and Chloe danced–they’d been taking etiquette dance lessons.
Watching this happy scene, Jasper smiled. For a moment, he thought he saw the love of his life walking toward him.
Nicole, is that you?
Jasper lifted his hand, but only caught a few cherry blossom petals.
He smiled. It was just an illusion.
But that feeling of happiness–he’d felt it again.
Jasper looked at Stella. She glowed with confidence, smiling back at him when their eyes met.
