Chapter 317 Cousin or Rival?
Kieran pulled her into his arms. “Chloe, you do feel something for me… don’t you?”
“Why would you think that?”
“You’re always careful. You didn’t worry I might lie to you… or have some kind of illness?”
Chloe smiled confidently.
She walked to the computer and opened a report.
It was his full medical exam report.
Kieran stared at her in surprise, then his face lit up with joy.
“Chloe… you’ve had your eye on me for a long time?”
“Kieran, what exactly is in that head of yours?”
Chloe laughed and tapped his forehead lightly.
“You. Only you.”
Kieran held both her hands and looked at her tenderly.
“What about you? You haven’t answered me.”
Chloe pulled her hands back and stroked his face softly. He leaned down obediently.
“Mr. Jagger.”
“Call me Kieran.”
“Kieran… I’m afraid I’ll disappoint you.”
Kieran’s heart sank slightly.
“I knew you were healthy. That’s why I let you come here. This is my place. I make all the rules.”
She lifted his chin gently and kissed his lips.
“Unhappy?”
Kieran looked at her deeply. “Chloe… I’m the first man you’ve brought here, right?”

“Yes.”
“That’s enough for me.”
He held her tightly. “Promise me… let me be your last man too.”
“We’ll see if you’re charming enough, Mr. Jagger.”
Kieran pressed her head gently and kissed her possessively.
“Call me Mr. Jagger again, and I’ll keep kissing you.”
Chloe checked the time and patted his cheek. “Kieran, you’re cute.”
She pushed him lightly. “Ten minutes. Then drive me back.”
At the door, she stopped without turning back. “Take the trash out on your way.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Kieran brushed his lips gently with his thumb, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Chloe… you’ll never bring anyone else here.
I will be the only one.

In the afternoon, at Cross Group.
Chloe listened to the presentation with a cold expression.
Her frown deepened with each word. The executives held their breath.
“This is the best you can do?”
“Ms. Cross… th–there’s another one.”
“Speak.”
Chloe was growing impatient. But as she listened, her tight frown slowly relaxed.
“Excellent. Team Four gets double bonuses.”
“Thank you, Ms. Cross!”
“Meeting dismissed.”

Chloe stood and left.
Everyone in the room let out a sigh of relief.
“I was terrified. She seemed fine before the meeting…”
“Who would’ve thought? She used to be such a sweet little princess. Now she’s just as intimidating.”
“But she’s fair. Rewards and punishments are clear. No slacking off.”
Mina walked in, and everyone fell silent at once.
“You’ve all worked hard. Ms. Cross bought coffee and desserts for everyone.”
No one could tell if Chloe was happy or upset.
Chloe returned to her office. Miles stood up, looking delighted.
“Chloe.”
“Miles.”
They shared a polite hug.
“When did you get back?”
“Yesterday.”
Miles had been studying abroad and just returned.
They sat facing each other.
“Who would’ve thought? You’re the tough, decisive Ms. Cross now. Can you handle those old executives?”
“Of course I can.”
“I brought you a gift. Let’s have dinner tonight.”
“Alright.”
Chloe opened her files. “Give me thirty minutes.”
“Take your time.”

“Dad’s too irresponsible. He follows Mom around on tours as her full–time manager. I’ll help Uncle Frederick instead.”
Chloe smiled slightly and continued reviewing documents.
Evening.
Chloe and Miles had dinner together, talking and laughing happily.
Not far away, Kieran’s mood turned dark.
Knox smiled teasingly. “Jealous?”
Kieran glared at him and drank his glass of red wine in one gulp.
“Kieran… you don’t really have the right to be jealous, do you?”
Kieran’s heart sank even more.
He’s right.
What right do I have?
I am only a secret lover.
“But your jealousy is still ridiculous.”
Kieran looked at him confused. “What do you mean?”
Knox grinned. “I’m not telling you.”
Kieran is being ridiculous.
He is even jealous of her own cousin.
