Chapter 92 The DNA Test Proposal
The things his aunt had said–they were unforgivable.
“Grandpa, please–she can’t breathe!
“She’s turning bluc, do something!”
Felix’s jaw tightened, his teeth grinding with fury. “Someone break this up. Now. Unless you want a murder on your hands.”
Mark stepped in and pried at Jasper’s fingers, struggling to loosen his grip.
“Jasper, let go. You’re killing her. Let go!”
Jasper’s muscles strained with the effort, and when he finally released, he stumbled backward, barely catching himself on the edge of the bed.
“Cough–hack–cough!”
Amber gasped, sucking in air like she’d been drowning. Her hands trembled as she touched her throat, eyes still wide with terror. She’d felt it–the absolute certainty that Jasper would have squeezed the life out of her without a second thought.
“Everyone out.”
“Jasper… she’s gone now. Aren’t you coming home?”
Jasper’s glare cut through him like ice–sharp enough to freeze a man solid where he stood. Felix felt it deep in his bones, a cold that had nothing to do with the temperature.
After all these years, his son was finally looking at him again. But that look… It was like staring into the eyes of an executioner.
“Home?” Jasper’s voice cracked. “She’s dead. What home is there?”
Felix went pale. His lips parted, then closed. What could he say?
Years ago, he’d locked his own son away, chained him to the house like a prisoner. Twenty years. Twenty years of silence between them.
And now, when Jasper finally looked at him, all Felix saw was the face of a man staring at his mother’s killer.
Regret clawed at his chest, sharp and relentless.
He’d destroyed Jasper. Taken everything from him. Stolen his happiness, piece by piece.
“I don’t want any of you here.”
Felix tried to speak, but Jasper’s eyes–empty, hollow, indifferent–stole the words right out of his mouth.

Chapter 92 The DNA Test Proposal
Sienna was helping Amber toward the door when she pulled it open–and stopped short. Her eyes flickered with something unexpected.
Elias and Stella stood in the doorway.
Amber’s gaze landed on Stella, and her lip curled with pure disgust.

“Elias, you know her mother slept with half the city, right? Surely the Cross family has standards. They wouldn’t let trash like her through the front door, would they?”
“Slap.”
Stella’s hand connected with Amber’s cheek before anyone could blink.
She’d heard Jasper was here. She’d come to find him, to explain everything–who she really was.
She hadn’t expected to walk in and hear her mother spoken about like that.
‘Stella–I’ll press charges. Assault. I swear it.” Amber clutched her face, tears welling in her eyes as she turned to Felix. “Dad, it’s her. The one who had me dragged to that TV station, humiliated me in front of the whole country, made our family a laughingstock. And now she hits me–right in front of you–for no reason. She’s got no respect for any of us.”
Felix’s eyes locked with Stella’s.
‘Miss Shaw.” His voice was low, dangerous. “You think you can put your hands on my daughter right in front of me? You think the Moores are just going to stand here and take it?”
‘Miss Moore insulted my mother.” Stella’s voice was steady, unflinching. “She had it coming.”
Standing there, facing down one of the most powerful men in the city, Stella showed not a flicker of fear.
You’ve got some nerve, young lady.”
Felix.” Elias stepped forward, positioning himself between Stella and the others. His usually respectful lemeanor had gone cold. “I don’t let anyone disrespect the people I care about.”

Elias.” Felix’s eyes narrowed. “Your father would never approve of a woman like her marrying into your amily.”
What the Cross family does isn’t the Moore family’s concern.”
The message was clear. Elias wasn’t backing down. Felix studied him for a long moment, then shifted his aze to Stella. His expression hardened, but he said nothing. Picking a fight with the Cross family wasn’t vorth it.
Why are you here?”
I came to see Mr. Moore.”
From the moment she’d walked in, Jasper hadn’t looked away from her.
But he wasn’t really seeing her. Not the woman standing in front of him. He was looking through her, past

her, at someone else.
Nicole’s daughter.

That was why she’d seemed familiar from the first moment he saw her. Why something about her pulled at him, tugged at memories he’d buried deep. Because she was Nicole’s.
If he hadn’t broken his promise all those years ago… would his own daughter with Nicole be this grown by now?
His Nicole. Was she really gone?
His chest felt like someone had reached inside and torn his heart to shreds, piece by bloody piece.
“You’re not welcome here.”
Amber’s voice dripped with venom. She’d always hated Stella, and knowing whose daughter she was only made it worse.
“All of you. Out.”
Amber’s face lit up with smug satisfaction. “You heard him. Get lost.”
“I meant you.”
Jasper’s roar rattled the room.
