You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 903

Both men at the head of the table picked up their phones at almost the same moment. They glanced at each other, then stepped aside to take their calls. Not even two minutes later, they found themselves standing together again.

While Oliver managed to keep his cool, Atticus looked like he was about to explode.

He never bothered sugarcoating things, especially not with family. And right now, he was furious. Beyond furious.

Unbelievable. Oliver was a mess, and so were his friends.

“You knew about this the whole time, didn’t you?” Atticus asked, his voice tight.

Oliver kept his mouth shut. He didn’t dare make a sound. Total coward. Absolute wimp.

If Atticus ended up roughing him up, he figured Hector deserved at least half the blame.

When Oliver stayed silent, Atticus let out a bitter laugh. He barely held himself back from throwing a punch, but instead grabbed Oliver by the collar and yanked him forward.

“You’re really something, Oliver. I thought you were better than this. First you go after my niece, then your buddy chases after my daughter?”

The elevator dinged as it hit the ground floor. Atticus shoved Oliver so hard he hit the wall with a loud thud.

Oliver didn’t have time to think it over. He rushed to his car and told his bodyguard to keep up with Atticus’s car.

The moment they pulled away, Oliver called Patricia.

“Hey, babe, we’ve got a situation,” he said, sounding both worried and helpless.

“What happened?” Patricia asked.

“Hector and Chelsea are at the police station. Chelsea’s date is there too. Your uncle’s on his way right now.”

Mr. Padilla kept things vague, only saying what he had to.

Patricia’s heart skipped a beat. She jumped up from her office chair, took a couple steps, then forced herself to calm down before speaking.

“So what do you want me to do?”

“Can you come over?”

Jackson didn’t even hesitate. “Either he’s setting you up, or he wants you to take the fall.”

Then he looked at her. “Is this about Hector and Chelsea getting taken to the station?”

Patricia blinked in surprise. “How do you know?”

Jackson handed over his phone, pulling up the neighborhood group chat. “Everyone’s talking about it. They got into a fight in the parking garage. The building manager called the cops.”

A few minutes later, Patricia rang Oliver back and got straight to the point. “You want me to run interference, don’t you?”

Oliver laughed, but it was a helpless sound. “No one knows me like you do. Please, Pattie, save me.”

“Can’t help you this time.”

Mr. Padilla tried to bargain. “Your uncle’s going to kill me.”

Patricia was cool as ever. “I’ll have a good doctor waiting for you at home.”
