Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1000

Hillary ran all the way out from the Jacob family’s mansion.

Dark clouds gathered above her on the hot summer night. The weather was suffocating.

Hilary looked at the crowd who were in a hurry at the zebra crossing. All of a sudden, she lost all sense of direction. She stood still by the roadside like a homeless person.

After leaving the Jacob family, she realized that she had nowhere to go in such a big world.

Moreover, God did not have any sympathy for her at all. Thunder rumbled and rain poured down instantly.

She was completely drenched as she held the offer letter from Oxford University tightly in her embrace, making sure it did not get wet.

Hillary had no clue how long she had been running in the rain before she finally arrived at the doorstep of a cafeteria.

However, as she was soaked, she found it unpleasant for her to enter the cafeteria in that manner. Hence, Hillary decided to take shelter from the rain on the walkways along the shops.

People who were going in and out of the cafeteria would subconsciously steal glances at her.

They wondered how such a beautiful girl would get drenched in the rain, yet nobody offered her an umbrella.

Inside the cafeteria, Jinn felt bored having to deal with his blind date that his grandfather set him up with.

The lady was talking non-stop and he was somewhat annoyed.

“Mr. Shayne, since it’s raining so heavily right now, maybe we can go for a movie later? I heard that they just released a new romantic literary movie, and it is quite highly rated. We can go watch it together.”

Jinn looked at the rain falling outside the window and said, “I’m not interested in watching romantic movies, let alone literary films.”

Embarrassed, the lady bit her lips. However, she did not plan to give up just like that due to Jinn’s outstanding background.

Jinn’s gaze fell on a slim figure who was standing outside the cafeteria. It caught his attention.

Hillary?

A moment later,, Jinn’s lips curled upwards, and a teasing look flashed across his eyes.

‘Hah, this woman said that she is not into me, but now she’s using such low-end tricks just to approach me?’

In the meantime, Jinn’s blind date asked, “What are your hobbies?”

‘What a boring and useless question.’

Jinn suddenly thought of a way to escape. He stood up and said to the lady, “Ms. Yaleman, I think I saw a close acquaintance of mine. Please excuse me so I can say hello to her.”

“Acquaintance?”

Jinn had already stood up and was walking toward the entrance of the cafeteria.

Hilary lifted her head and saw Jinn’s face. She was shocked as she did not expect to meet Jinn there.

“What a coincidence.”

Jinn teasingly looked at Hillary and asked, “Is it really a coincidence? Or did you follow me here on purpose?”

Hilary was not in a good mood at that moment. She was not a pushover although Jinn mocked her. Hence, she said coldly, “Mr. Shayne, you’re such a narcissist. Is there any reason that you’re allowed to come here but I’m not?”

Jinn clearly did not want to argue with Hilary on such matters. He simply said, “Alright, let’s just say that you’re not following me and it’s just pure coincidence.”

He simply tried to brush her off.

Not far away, the woman from Jinn’s blind date came walking with her purse.

Jinn grabbed Hilary’s wrist and pulled her to himself, “If you want to strike a deal with me, you’ll have to show me what you got.”

Hilary frowned. A rich woman in a dress came into her sight. Her eyes were clearly filled with admiration for Jinn.

She was obviously a clingy person and Jinn wanted to get rid of her.

Hilary retrieved her hand from Jinn’s grasp and locked her arm into his. The next second, she shook off her cold expression and smiled adoringly at Jinn. She said in a sweet tone, “Honey, is she a friend of yours?”

Ms. Yvonne was dumbfounded. Grandfather Shayne arranged this blind date saying that Jinn did not have a girlfriend. What was going on?

“Mr. Jinn, who is she?”

Jinn was going to reply when Hilary leaned closer to his side. She smiled and answered, “I’m the mother of his child.”

Hilary even moved her hand to her flat stomach.

Jinn looked at Hilary thoughtfully. That was some good acting. She could actually act.

Hilary took her acting seriously. She wanted to complete her performance, so she continued, “Mr. Jinn, why did you come and have coffee by yourself? I came to look for you and I got drenched in the rain. How are you going to repay me and the baby?”

Jinn raised his eyebrow as his eyes looked at her in contemplation. “It was for your own good. A pregnant lady can’t drink coffee. You must take care of the baby.”

He touched her tummy mischievously.
