Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1007

Yanny took a deep breath when she arrived at the bar and was standing outside of the door.

She raised her hand and knocked on the door.

While Lucas played his card in the room, he yelled at the door, "Are you here to deliver our cocktails? Come on in!"

The door then clicked open.

When Lucas looked up and noticed Yanny, he was stunned for a second before his eyes glimmered while he teased, "She isn't here to bring us our cocktails, so who ordered a woman?"

Rodney rolled his eyes at him before saying, "Was it you?"

Lucas burst out laughing before saying, "Oh you misunderstood me now. It really wasn't me."

Besides, he had never seen a woman of such class and elegance working in the bar before.

Shayne remained silent as he sat on his seat without moving an inch. He was holding onto his final three cards. It was a two of clovers and a pair of tens.

It seemed the two of spades were still in someone else's hand and it had not been played yet.

He wondered just why his cards were so unfavorable to him today.

Yanny did not look away as she immediately strode over to Shayne.

The trio of men were all staring at Shayne with curious gazes.

Lucas burst out laughing again as he gave Shayne a teasing gaze before saying, "Oh, it turns out to be Shayne's woman."

Rodney threw his cards on the table as he spoke in a frustrated tone, "So, are we still playing or not?"

It seemed Shayne had not even once glanced at Yanny from the moment she entered the room as he simply said, "We are. I am so winning this game, so why should we not play?"

Coincidentally, it was Shayne's turn. The instant he played a pair of tens, Heaton responded by playing a pair of kings. He could not do a thing to that.

Heaton then responded by playing a single seven card.

Lucas raised his brows and said, "Oh Heaton, are you going easy on him? He only has a single card left. Can't you play a double card?"

Heaton immediately showed Lucas his hand and said, "I don't have double plays anymore."

Lucas played a single two to stand his ground. It seemed that no one else but the dealer had a two to play anymore.

Shayne played a two of clovers and won the game.

Yanny was standing silently in front of Shayne as she lowered her gaze to look at Shayne's long slender fingers while he shuffled the deck of cards. She said, "I have something to talk to you about, Shayne. Can you give me ten minutes of your time, so we can talk?"

Shayne remained silent as he continued shuffling the cards.

Lucas was glancing back and forth at Shayne and the woman standing next to him with a peculiar gaze.

Lucas intentionally teased, "Oh Shayne, do you really have the heart to keep such a beautiful woman waiting?"

Shayne snapped back at him intentionally, "Do you know that the prettier the woman is, the more toxic she actually is? You should stay away from them."

"Oh please, do you even know about living life to its fullest."

Yanny maintained her smile on her beautiful face while she casually listened to Lucas' and Shayne's bickering as she continued to wait for Shayne patiently.

Since Shayne had a habit of smoking while he played cards, when he reached for his box of cigarettes, Yanny had already swiftly reached out for his lighter, ignited it with a click before handing it over to him.

Her movements were extremely smooth and she did not seem to be having any troubles doing so at all.

She was doing something that should have been done by regular bar hostesses. However, the way she did it seemed so elegant and was never once thought of as disgraceful.

Lucas trembled for a brief moment as he stared at Yanny. He found the both of them quite interesting.

After Yanny was done handing Shayne his lighter, she did not rush Shayne to have the discussion with her as she simply stood beside him and continued to patiently wait for him.

After half an hour had gone by, Heaton shoved the cards back into the pile from his hand, gave his collar a tug before saying, "That's it. I'm done. Let's call it for today."

"Hey, what is the meaning of this? You're just excited to hook up with some woman, aren't you?"

Heaton picked up his jacket from the back of his chair, waved it around and casually teased, "Let's go now. We're not as lucky as Shayne. I need to return to my office and work."

Rodney then said, "Say, do you have any positions open in your company that offers an annual salary of a couple hundred million bucks just for me to slave away?"

Heaton flung his jacket behind his back and when he walked by Shayne, he patted his shoulder, bent over a little and jokingly whispered into his ear, "That woman sure is something alright. Careful now, don't hurt your back."

Shayne raised his brows and snapped back at him, "Your kidney hasn't been functioning for a while now. Careful not to ruin it."

While Heaton strode out of the room, he said, "Oh don't you worry about me, I happen to have my very own private doctor."

When Lucas realized that the atmosphere in the room felt off, he decided to leave with Rodney as he said, "Hey Shayne, we'll be playing snooker next door. You guys can carry on with your fun."

Soon, everyone had left.

Shayne and Yanny were the only people that were left in the room.

Shayne extinguished his cigarette in the crystal ashtray as he squinted his eyes underneath the white hazy smoke. He simply asked without even looking at Yanny, "You're quite good at lighting up a cigarette. Have you done that before?"

His voice sounded calm and it was unsure if he was actually displeased or not.

Yanny replied, "That was my first time doing that. However, since I was serving you, Shayne, I know I should be extremely respectful and careful around you."

Shayne chuckled and said, "You have quite the sweet tongue there."

Yanny bluntly replied, "Oh, it's only natural for me to make you happy since I was going to discuss terms with you."
