After Yanna made some lemon chicken, she even made the grilled chicken Samantha wanted, cooked up three other different dishes, and made some pork rib soup.
She cooked up an appetizing feast.
A cab pulled up at the mansion's entrance when they were just about to eat and a woman dressed in a green dress stepped out of the cab soon after.
It seemed the act alone caused Shayne to instantly lose his appetite. He exclaimed, "What is Cara doing here?"
Samantha turned around and questioned her brother, "Did you invite her?"
Shayne was unsure how Samantha found out he lived in Luna Mansion as he said, "Nope."
The instant Cara entered the house, she immediately noticed Yanny and said, "Wow, what a coincidence, sis. You're here too?"
Samantha scoffed while hugging her arm as she said, "What are you doing in my brother's home?"
Cara stared at Shayne with a shy and flustered look as she said, "You agreed to date me previously, Shayne, but you never looked for me. Therefore, I thought that you must be too busy with work and decided to ask Old Master Jinn for your home address. I… I'm not interrupting you at the moment, right, Shayne?"
While Samantha stared at her pretentious demeanor, she had to hold herself back from rolling her eyes at Cara as she coldly exclaimed, "Of course you are. We're just about to eat our food!"
Cara walked over to them as she said, "I haven't had my dinner too. Why don't I join you guys?"
Samantha was speechless.
On the other hand, Shayne leaned back against his chair. He did not refuse her and seemed to be spectating on the sidelines. He did not want to get involved.
Yanny was quite generous as she said, "Why don't you grab a seat then since you're already here."
Cara immediately hugged Yanny's arm and behaved as if they were very close siblings. "You're the best, sis."
Yanny kept her polite smile as she inched closer to Cara's ear and whispered in a very soft tone, "You don't have to act so pretentiously."
Cara pulled out her chair and sat next to Yanny. "Did you make all of this food, sis? Why haven’t I realized how good you are at cooking?"
Yanny calmly replied, "Isn’t that normal? While I was figuring out how to make overnight buns edible, you were eating to your heart's content at the dining table back then."
Although that was the truth, Cara was tongue-tied and did not know how to respond to her statement. All she did was chuckle gleefully and said, "Are you trying to make your life sound tragic in front of Shayne, sis? Is your life really that tragic when you were in the Jacob family home? You know our parents actually love you a lot."
Yanny chuckled and never said a word.
Samantha was stunned. She was not aware of their relationship, so she asked, "Hey, Yanny, are you and Cara both biological siblings?"
Cara replied, "Yeah."
However, Yanny said, "No."
They were basically making conflicting claims at the same time.
Yanny grinned and calmly explained, "My mom only has me as her biological daughter. My father remarried after my mom's death and adopted a stranger’s child home. I basically have a step-sister."
Yanny's statement sounded very calm. However, it seemed that her words had caused Cara's expression to slowly change.
Yanny even shot a wide smile at her as she turned around to look at Cara and said, "Am I right, sister?"
Cara was speechless.
Samantha bluntly said, "Wait, so that means she's just a stepchild that entered your life because she came along with her mother?"
Cara had a flustered and bitter look on her face while tightly clenching her fists underneath the table.
She did not come over just to be insulted by them!
Cara forced a smile as she said, "Shayne, we live in the modern era now and marriage is very free and open these days. So when the former wife passed, do you expect my dad to stay unmarried for the rest of his life?"
Yanny picked up a piece of grilled chicken and placed it on her plate as she calmly said, "Oh yeah, we live in the modern era now. So does that mean that cheating on your spouse is acceptable too?'
Cara secretly gritted her teeth. Her jaw was clenched so tightly, it felt as if she could shatter her teeth.
'What does Yanny even mean? Is she calling me an illegitimate child born out of wedlock?'
After Samantha understood their relationship, she intentionally said in a mocking tone, "Oh." This caused Cara to feel extremely embarrassed.
Cara was incredibly afraid of Samatha's huge mouth since she might spread the news of her mother being a secret affair to the entire school.
