On a rainy night, Samuel paid a visit.
“Shayne, what did you do to Little Yanny?”
Samuel demanded while holding onto the collar of Shayne’s shirt.
Shayne made a cold and smug chuckle. “Yanny is my wife. What I did to her has nothing to do with you. Even if I raped her, it’s none of your business!”
Bang!
Samuel’s fist landed on Shayne’s face. “Shayne Jinn, I’ve always thought that you’re still a man no matter how crazily you behaved, but I just realized that you’re not even a man!”
Samuel held onto Shayne’s collar and gave him yet another punch. Shayne’s face turned sideways, with blood leaking out of the corner of his mouth.
He licked his gums as his body trembled. His fists by his side slowly clenched tight, gathering an explosive strength.
Shayne made an uppercut that landed on Samuel’s face. “What gives you the right to lecture me? Are you feeling exhilarated after sleeping with my woman? You feel honored? Samuel, I didn’t go looking for you, but you came looking for me! Sure, since you’ve delivered yourself to my door, I’ll kill you today! I’ve been thinking of doing that long ago!”
Shayne was a trained martial artist. Even if Samuel knew some self defense techniques, he was no match for Shayne. Moreover, at that very moment, Shayne was at the edge of a mental breakdown.
Or rather, already mentally broken.
Samuel was beaten to the ground, with blood all over the corners of his mouth.
Shayne seemed to have lost his patience. He was eagerly thinking of ending Samuel’s life.
Perhaps after killing Samuel, even if Yanny never reconciled with him, they could still continue their entanglement for the rest of their lives. Even if he had to endure hell, he did not wish to let go of her.
Shayne took big strides to the safe to reach for his gun.
A silver pistol shimmered brightly in the light.
Shayne looked down authoritatively and pointed at Samuel with his gun. His expression was cold and merciless, like a grim reaper. His entire body exuded an aura of death. “Now, I’ll have you know what the consequences of your lack of control over the lower half of your body would be.”
Shayne pointed the gun right at Samuel’s head.
Samuel did not bother to evade. His fearless gaze locked with Shayne’s vicious gaze, saying, “You can kill me, but Yanny is innocent. Both of us were being set up. Shayne, you mustn’t hurt Yanny.”
Bang!
Shayne shot Samuel’s shoulder with the pistol.
“Yanny is my wife. No matter how much I hurt her, even if she dies, it must only be under the identity of my wife! What gives you the rights to interfere with our matters?!”
After Yanny heard the gunshot within the mansion, her blank gaze suddenly shuddered.
She looked out of the window, noticing something and quickly ran downstairs.
Out in the yard, Samuel was lying in a muddy puddle in the rain, covered in blood. Rainwater pattered his pale face, looking like someone on death’s door.
Meanwhile, the bloodied wound that blossomed on his shoulder was Shayne’s handiwork.
Yanny ran into the rain, putting herself before Shayne’s pistol. Both her hands were grabbing onto Shayne’s pistol as she said, “Shayne, please spare him.”
Rain drenched Shayne’s body. The raindrops on a winter night were like cold daggers. All around Shayne, there was an unstoppable murderous intent.
“Yanny, move away. Don’t make me repeat myself.”
How could Yanny move? Shayne was already crazy. If she moved, he would surely murder Samuel, but in that incident, Samuel was also a victim.
Yanny could not allow Shayne to commit that sin, nor could she let him kill an innocent man.
“If you want to kill him, just pull the trigger. Shayne Jinn, I won’t move. It’s not because I care about Samuel. Even if you killed Samuel, it won’t pacify the rage in you. Why don’t you kill me instead since I no longer want to live anyway.”
Yanny knelt on the ground, looking up at him. Both her hands were holding his pistol, pointed at herself. Her warm tears streamed down, mixing with the cold rainwater. She looked at him with reddened eyes. Within them was a look without any hope for life. She said through her tears, “Shayne, if my death can pacify your rage, then I’ll willingly die by your hands.”
Huh. She would even brave death for Samuel.
Shayne lifted the pistol and pointed it to her forehead.
For a brief instant, he entertained the thought of having the bullet pierce through her body.
Shayne would never admit that he had cowardice within him, but at that very moment, he pulled the trigger while moving his arm away. The bullet hit the acacia tree right behind them.
The entire acacia tree shook violently for a moment.
Looking through the curtain of rain on the winter night, Yanny could see the acacia tree in the distance laughing bleakly.
