Samantha never thought that Shayne could do such a thing to Yanny despite loving her so deeply.
Samantha stared at Yanny, who was devoid of anger, and could not hold back from tearing up. She comforted her, “Sister Yanny, I know that my brother has caused you great harm, but he really loves you deeply. I’ve never seen him lose control like this, being so irrational. Worry not. I’ll work hard on persuading my brother to have him let you out of here. Sister Yanny, no matter what happens between you and my brother in the future, you’re always the sister-in-law that I acknowledged. Ever since you went to my parent-teacher meeting, I’ve already decided on it. I don’t wish to see you breaking up with my brother.”
Yanny’s pale lips twitched, then looked at Samantha lovingly, saying, “Samantha, I’m not blaming your brother. I don’t know… don’t know what will happen between your brother and I. In the past, I might have a solution, but now, I really don’t have the courage to look him straight in the eye.”
In the past, Yanny did not believe in fate. However, at that moment, she could only place all the love between Shayne and her to the hands of fate.
As for the future, she would let fate decide.
Cindy and Samantha accompanied Yanny for some time in silence. For someone like Yanny, once she fell into despair, no matter what others said would be of no help. Cindy stopped talking as she knew it would not help at all. She just hugged her, hoping to give her a little more strength to hang in there.
Before they left, Cindy gave Yanny one last hug and gave her a single reminder. “Yanny, you must stay strong. Living well is more important than anything else.”
Cindy was afraid that Yanny might be suicidal.
Given Yanny’s emotions at that moment, she seemed to be ill.
After Cindy and Samantha left the building, Cindy did not leave Luna Mansion immediately. Instead, she marched straight into the master bedroom on the second floor of the mansion.
With red eyes, Cindy barged into the room angrily. With no regard for consequences, she immediately grabbed the thing in Shayne’s hand and smashed it on the floor.
Even Shayne was caught completely off guard.
Cindy tugged at Shayne’s shirt collar and shouted at him viciously, “Shayne Jinn! Just what did you do to Yanny!! You physically abused her! Are you even a man?! You committed marital rape on her didn’t you? You scumbag!”
Smack!
Cindy raised her hand and threw a slap with full force onto Shayne’s face.
She even managed to push his face to the side.
Shayne’s expressionless face left her clueless about his mood. Cindy’s hand hung shakily by her leg.
It was not that she had no fear of Shayne. She was terrified of Shayne. That slap was just her acting on impulse.
However, at that moment, she was afraid that Shayne might turn her into mince meat to feed the fishes.
Nevertheless, she had committed the action. Cindy felt that the slap was justified, therefore put on a brave front and stared at Shayne. “Y-y-you… what do you want? I’m warning you. If you dare hurt Yanny again, I… I… I’ll call the cops!”
Shayne was unresponsive, as though he had not seen her. He merely moved her arm away and stared intently on the pieces scattered on the floor. He frowned lightly and said, “This is a puzzle of Yanny and I. You’ve messed it up.”
His voice only carried a hint of displeasure, sounding absolutely calm. One could hardly hear any emotions within them. It was calm and collected.
After that, he squatted down to pick up the puzzle pieces scattered on the floor.
Cindy stood there in a daze, stupefied as she watched Shayne. Something felt amiss, but she could not put her finger on it.
It just felt that things did not go the way she thought. Shayne should be exploding in rage and punishing her heavily. Even killing her with a gun was not surprising.
