Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1148

The first year Yanny arrived in the United Kingdom, with the help of Samuel, she got enrolled in the University of Oxford and attended classes that specialized in Classical Literature and Modern Language, along with a double major in Economics and Management.

As university life was free and easy, Yanny also did a minor of directing and film editing at the University of Arts London.

There was no reason for her mind to wander.

After arriving in England, she got to meet Samuel’s godfather, Louis Frank.

Louis was an elderly man who lived alone. He used to have a smart and talented daughter, but the great always had great hardship to face with. Louis’ daughter, Lynn passed away ten years ago, when she was about Yanny’s age.

In the beginning, it was Old Frank who supported Samuel when he wanted to help Yanny.

When Old Frank was younger, he was extremely wealthy and powerful in the UK. He was a retired but influential rich merchant. Old Frank kept a low profile and rarely made public appearances. After retiring, he spent his days in the countryside of the UK, leading a simple and plain life.

Samuel had previously shown Yanny’s picture to Old Frank and told him that Yanny was someone beyond his reach and that she was someone who he had shared a lot of regrets with.

Old Frank laughed and said, “I would definitely help if she is someone that you adore, so bring her along and let me meet her.”

With help from Old Frank, Yanny flew to the United Kingdom in Old Frank’s private jet. When Old Frank met Yanny, they both got along well together. Old Frank adored children, hence he adored Yanny, and saw his daughter’s wit and intelligence in her.

Out of happiness, he adopted Yanny as his goddaughter.

When Yanny came to England, she had no identity. With his influence, Old Frank pulled some strings and Yanny then stayed in England with the identity of his daughter, Lynn.

From then on, Yanny became Lynn.

In his lifetime, Old Frank had numerous hobbies.

He had a fine grasp of books, arts, and oracles.

Yanny used to be occupied with her acting career, but after the move to England, she became reclusive and started to learn reading and writing from Old Frank, following in his footsteps in the choices of his hobbies.

While making strokes on the canvas with the brushes, Old Frank adjusted his glasses and looked over at Yanny. “Why didn’t he come over with you? If I remember correctly, isn’t it a weekend today?”

He was asking about Samuel.

Yanny was preparing ink on the side as she did not think much about what Old Frank asked but teased instead, “Samuel is busy with his work, so he might not have the time to visit you even on the weekends, but I’m here to keep you company. Why are you still missing him?”

Old Frank chuckled while pointing the brush at Yanny. “You know what I’m saying. You guys knew each other since you were young, but that guy is too righteous. When he had just arrived in the UK and wanted to start building his career, he asked for me to be his investor with thirty million dollars as an initial start-up fund. He was clearly asking for a favor, but with his righteous attitude, it seemed like if I were to invest in his business, it would be a blessing for me. His impulsiveness was rather similar to when I was younger.”

Yanny lowered her head and smiled. “There is nothing wrong with being an honest person. I used to like him for his righteousness and talent.”

Old Frank looked at her in all seriousness. “You mean that now you don’t like him being all virtuous and righteous?”

Yanny shook her head and said lightly, “I still like how honest of a person he is, but, I only appreciate him as a friend. It is hard to find someone who is as honorable as Samuel. Samuel is a gentleman and a good person.”

Right when Yanny finished her sentence, a clear man’s voice was heard from the outside of the study room, “Ahem, who is friend-zoning me?”

Old Frank and Yanny both looked toward the door.

Samuel said while entering the house while carrying in a basket full of fresh oranges, “These oranges were just flown in domestically, so I bought some for you to try.”

Old Frank took off his glasses and said, “I thought you weren’t coming. Last week you bought so many baguettes that my refrigerator is now stuffed. How do you expect this old man to chew on these hard baguettes? You did it on purpose.”
