Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 118

Verian desperately tried to recall if she had done anything stupid in front of Heaton last night. However, after racking her brain for a really long time, her head started to hurt agonizingly. She raised her hand and pounded at her head hard.

However, why would Heaton have appeared at the bar last night?

Could it be because of how heavily she drank that she called him out on her own?

As she pondered on it, she was startled as her phone suddenly started ringing.

It was Guin that was calling. Guin had also drank heavily last night, and her voice at this moment sounded hoarse. She reminded her, “Verian, the tour group you had me sign you up for departs on the 11am flight. Don’t be late now.”

Verian took a look at the time and it was already 8.30am. “I can’t talk much now, I’ll need to hurry and freshen up before I leave.”

Fortunately, she had packed everything in her luggage beforehand, or else it seemed she would not have actually made her flight in time.

Recently, her life and emotions were in shambles so she had gotten Guin to get one of her friends who worked at a tour company book her a trip on a staff discount. Since the tour fee was included, both her accommodation and plane ticket were way cheaper than when Verian Mont booked it herself. She had never decided to follow the tour group upon arrival. Instead, all she wanted to do was get a change of environment just to ease her mood.

In the Fudd Group’s meeting room.

After Heaton finished an executive meeting, he raised his wrist to look at time from his watch. It was already 11.30am.

That woman should be awake by now.

He grabbed his phone and made a phone call to Verian. However, her phone was switched off.

Heaton’s brows twitched. Could the woman have had too much to drink and was not awake yet?

However, Kush frantically pushed the door open as he rushed in. “Boss, not good. Miss Mont left North City on an 11.00am flight!

“What did you say?”

Heaton’s gaze dimmed.

What on Earth was that woman up to? She was rambling on and on about how she liked him last night. Had she forgotten about all the heartfelt messages she had said the moment she woke up today?

While pouting his thin lips, Heaton asked, “Where did she go?”

“Miss Mont has gone to S City. Should I book you a flight to S City right now?”

Without saying a word, his expression dimmed. After a brief pause, he calmly said, “What am I looking for her for?”

He refused to believe Verian Mont would never return to North City forever and not look after Little Jelly Bean.

Kush was stunned. Was his boss still throwing a fit at Miss Mont?

However, Kush realized at the end of the day that Heaton had already completed three to four days’ worth of work in a single afternoon.

Upon reaching the end of the workday, he did not seem to be leaving, so Kush brewed a fresh cup of coffee and brought it in. “Boss, you need to take a short break from doing so much high-intensity work in just a few hours straight.”

After Heaton took a sip of coffee, he did not seem to stop as he focused on the stock market figures on his laptop.

Kush boldly asked, “Boss, have you planned on visiting Miss Mont immediately in S City after rushing all your work today?”

Heaton glared at him and coldly said, “When have you become too smart for your own good?”

Kush rubbed his nose and asked, “What time should I book the flight then?”

“Tomorrow morning at ten.”

When Heaton returned to the Fudd family home after working overtime till extremely late that night, Nancy was also home.

“Heaton, why did you return so late. I couldn’t even reach you through the phone and was worried for a really long time.”

She heard from Aunt Orchid that Verian had not been living in the Fudd family home for quite some time now, and Heaton did not seem to be out looking for her. This meant that Verian had actually left the Fudd family home for good now, right?
