Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1198

Laying on the bed, Yanny looked as if she was nearing her end. Her forehead was covered with cold sweat and her hair was wet and sticky from all the sweat.

Yanny looked like a mermaid at the brink of her death.

Her body was covered with blood. It was a harrowing sight.

Shayne’s heartbeat came to an abrupt stop. He took big strides toward her and held her hand. His eyes were red when he called out to her, “How are you feeling, Yanny?”

With no strength left in her, Yanny slightly fluttered her eyes open. She saw the glaring light and the movements of the man’s silhouette in front of her.

With one hand placed on her forehead, Shayne held her hands tightly with the other. Warm tears fell from the corners of his bloodshot eyes.

A nurse carried over the newborn which was covered in blood to Shayne. “Director Jinn, this is the child that Mrs. Jinn birthed…”

Without waiting for the nurse to finish her sentence, Shayne thundered, “Go away!”

The nurse thought to herself, ‘What’s going on? Does he not want to take a look at his child…’

Carefully, the nurse carried the child back to the newborn ward.

In the labour room, Yanny and Shayne were left alone.

Yanny was in a dazed state in which it was hard for her to differentiate between reality and imagination. Through her blurry vision, she caught a glimpse of Shayne’s bloodshot eyes.

With her eyes slightly opened, she reached out weakly and stroked his face. She mumbled softly, “Don’t cry, Shayne.”

On the ECG monitor, the heart waves which were rising and falling depressed abruptly and gradually came to a flat line. The ECG monitor let out an alarming sound.

‘Beep…’

Yanny’s hand slipped off from Shayne’s face.

“Yanny!”

Shayne saw that the bed sheet was stained with a big pool of blood.

Yanny passed out completely.

“Someone get the doctor!”

With hurried footsteps, a group of people rushed toward the ward.

“This situation is not optimistic. Mrs. Jinn is losing a large amount of blood after the labour. We need to proceed quickly with the blood transfusion!”

Yanny was sent to the emergency ward.

Henry brought the blood donors to the blood collection room.

In despair, Shayne sat outside the operating room with both hands supporting his head. He felt disgruntled yet deep down in his heart, the anxiety was slowly creeping up and magnifying.

He thought to himself, ‘What’s the use of having a child? Whoever said that having a child would bring joy must be out of their mind.’

He should not have agreed to her proposal of having a child.

It was not worth it for Yanny to risk her life just to have a child.

Why did she have to put her life on the line for the sake of someone else’s opinion.

What would be the use of having a child if something bad happened to her?

If she died, who would he have loved?

Staring at the red-lit sign above the operating room, Shayne seethed ruthlessly, “You better stay alive, Yanny. If not, I will have the kid killed.”

A threat that was ruthless and sinister.

After all, Shayne was a cold-hearted and ruthless person.

It was only for her that Shayne would only show a great amount of gentleness.

He was not a person gifted with gentleness.

Not until he met Yanny that he then treated her with tenderness and gentleness. His care and love for her was presumptuous.

The operation went on for a full three hours.

For every minute and every second that had passed, it was as if Shayne’s heart was hovering above the tip of a knife, going up and down.

Walking out from the operating room, Ben spoke to Shayne with a face of seriousness and cautiousness, “Mrs. Jinn had lost too much blood. Though the surgery went well, her condition is still unstable. Hence, Mrs. Jinn is required to stay in the ICU for a few days.”

Shayne stood up abruptly and grabbed Ben by his collar, slamming him into the wall and demanded, “Were you the one who prodded Yanny into having a child? Were you the one who promised Yanny that there will be no issues to have a child with her current health condition? How is it that she is losing so much blood now!”

Ben felt bad and guilt-ridden. “Master Shayne, I have already advised Mrs. Jinn that although there wouldn’t be any issues getting pregnant, it would be hard for her body to go through the labor process. I have reminded her more than once and I have advised her to think it through. However, she was hell-bent on getting pregnant. Master Shayne, I am just a mere doctor, not a family of Mrs. Jinn, so I don’t have the right to stop her from getting pregnant…”
