Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 18

In the study, ambergris fragrance filled the air. The old man held his walking stick and asked in solemnly, "That girl. Is she really Little Jelly Bean's biological mother?"

Heaton handed the DNA report to John Fudd. "If you don't believe it, you can take a closer look. This is the paternity test results."

John took the report and saw the result at a first glance. The similarity was 99 percent.

Does that mean that... Verian was really Little Jelly Bean’s mother?

The old man nodded, as if he made a compromise. "Since she's Little Jelly Bean's biological mother, I have no problem with your marriage. However, the girl's origin is unknown, and I'm not at ease. At that point of time, how could she have even thought about being a surrogate mother…”

Heaton interrupted the old man's words, his thin lips slightly pursed. "Her background is not important to me. It's enough for me as long as she can take care of Little Jelly Bean well."

Old Master Fudd frowned heavily. "What? Are you marrying her for Little Jelly Bean? Does that mean that you have no feelings for her?"

"Dad, no matter who I marry, it's the same for you. You don't have to worry about me."

"… You! What are you saying?!"

"Dad, if there's nothing else. Let's go downstairs and eat."

John Fudd did not know what to do with him. Heaton always had his own ideas since he was young. No one could help him make decisions. The old man sighed a little and gave up. "Ok, but Heaton, I can't accept her in such a short time."

Heaton raised his hand to loosen the tie around his neck. His tone was filled with playfulness and cynicism. "She's my wife, not your wife. It doesn't matter if you accept her or not."

John Fudd was so angry that he almost spat out blood. "You!"

...

In the kids’ room on the second floor, Little Jelly Bean brought Verian into her room. The little kid proudly introduced the dolls that were displayed in her room.

On the bed, there were several colorful Peppa Pigs lying disorderly.

"Jelly Bean, do you like Peppa Pig?"

"Yeah! By the way, Monty, my name is Cherie Fudd!"

"Hm, that’s a nice name. Was it from your father?"

The little kid nodded and suddenly took Verian's hand and made her sit on her soft bed. Then, she asked seriously, "Monty, did you really marry my dad?"

Verian hesitated for a second and nodded. "Yeah, don't you want me to be your mother? Why? Do you regret it?"

The little munchkin shook her head, pursed her mouth and said, "Although I like Monty very much, all my friends say that the stepmother is very fierce. Monty, will you have a baby with my dad?"

She was afraid that if Monty and her father gave birth to more babies, Monty would not like her anymore.

Verian caressed the little munchkin's soft mushroom head. "Of course not. Little Jelly Bean is good enough for us."

The little kid grinned and smiled innocently. "Really?"

Verian looked at the little kid’s bright smile and recalled the child who she gave birth to three years ago. For a split second, she was in a daze.

The door of the room was pushed open with a click sound. "What are you talking about?"

Heaton opened the door and saw a woman and a kid sitting on the bed, playing with Peppa Pigs.

Verian stood up and touched the back of her neck uncomfortably. Heaton glanced and said, "Go downstairs for dinner."

Little Jelly Bean grabbed Verian's hand and walked toward Heaton. Then, she offered her other hand to Heaton. "Daddy, lets hold hands."

As they were going downstairs, Little Jelly Bean was in the middle with Heaton on the left and Verian on the right. It was a picture-perfect scene of a “family of three” and was surprisingly harmonious. This caused Nancy’s eyes to sting.

As everyone sat down at the table, dinner officially started.

The old man who sat at the host seat finally spoke up after being silent for a long time. "Now that you have obtained the certificate, when are you planning to hold the wedding?"

Verian's hand that was holding the chopsticks stiffened.
