Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 221

Verian frowned as she felt slightly displeased.

She had originally intended to give Heaton the ring when they were together in private. However, now that Lain had exposed it, there would be no surprise left.

Heaton lowered his head and looked toward the tiny woman next to her. His mood was not affected by Lain as a shred of delight flashed across the bottom of his eyes. He said, “You bought a ring for me?”

Verian nodded while blushing. She replied with a soft “yeah”. As she was just about to reach out and show Heaton the ring, Heaton grabbed onto her tiny hand and whispered into her ear, “Show it to me when we’re home.”

All Verian felt was the itch on her ears as she blushed heavier. “Okay.”

Heaton was usually very cold. At this moment however, he was actually behaving so lovingly in public with Verian that all Lain felt was how much it stung her eyes.

Serene grunted coldly and said, “Have enough yet, you two? I just suffered a breakup yesterday and if you both keep flaunting your love at me, I think I’ll be full without even needing to eat hotpot anymore!”

Heaton’s thin lips cracked a grin. He said, “Just find another one and you’ll be able to flaunt your love back at other people.”

Verian did not expect Heaton to be capable of teasing Serene. It was obvious that he was in a good mood. Could this be his hint of telling Serene to seek Wilson out?

Verian never dared to imagine Heaton having the hobby of matchmaking.

Lain was cast aside as she could not integrate herself within their conversation and was completely uninterested with the hotpot in front of her.

Verian picked up a piece of intestine and just as she was about to place it in Heaton’s sauce bowl, Lain pretended to unintentionally speak up, “I remembered Heaton disliking organs.”

Verian’s hand which was holding onto her chopsticks froze for a brief moment as she instinctively wanted to bring the piece of intestine back to her bowl. However, before she could do that, Heaton had already taken it directly from her chopsticks. After mixing it in his dipping sauce, he casually tossed the piece of intestine into his mouth.

After he was done eating, he provided his feedback. “It doesn’t taste that bad.”

Lain raised her eyebrows.

Had he actually changed his taste because of Verian?

Heaton had given her plenty of respect. However, Verian did not wish to force him to eat something he disliked. She said, “If you don’t like internal organs, you can eat more vegetables.”

Verian gave him a piece of cabbage and Heaton happened to be enjoying her ‘service’ as he said, “Help me get some tofu.”

Verian was speechless.

Did this man not have his own hands?

However, Verian still attentively scooped him some tofu and ‘brought him vegetables’.

Hey… He was usually being served by people and now the power dynamics had shifted to him serving her. She felt great in her heart, so was this an ailment?

Serene noticed a huge pile of prawns that were uneaten by anyone. She said, “Verian, I remembered you used to be absolutely obsessed with prawns back in high school, right? Why aren’t you eating them now?”

Verian did not even eat a single prawn. She said, “It’s a little troublesome.”

She was not actually pretending to act coquettishly because Heaton was around. It was just because she did not like to eat prawns recently and tossed a random excuse to brush her off.

Who knew that Heaton would actually scoop up a small plate of prawns, use a wet tissue to clean his hands, then pick up a prawn with his long and slender fingers before cleanly and perfectly deshelling them. Swiftly, a small plate of clean, white prawns were placed in front of Verian’s eyes.

Verian originally did not want to eat any. However, since these were prawns that were deshelled by Heaton, she would finish every single one in front of her.

The man gave her a glance with his dark eyes. He spoke in a calm tone, “Give it a taste.”

It was unsure if this was due to Heaton personally deshelling the prawns but they tasted fresher and much more tender than usual. Verian finished her small plate of prawns quickly.

Serene, who was watching from the sidelines, was about to choke herself to death by their blatant flaunting of love. She let out a few dry coughs.

She was doomed now. She now wished to find a man who would also deshell prawns for her…

If it was not deshelling prawns, peeling pomegranates was fine too!

Somehow, images of Wilson’s huge clean, white hands holding onto a scalpel while eating prawns manifested itself in her head…
