Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 234

When Heaton took Verian's hand and walked before James Fudd, he examined her, and his gaze flashed with disbelief.

James's gaze stayed focussed on Verian's face for a long time.

Then, Little Jelly Bean, who was beside James' leg, took his big aged hand and said, "Grandpa , you haven't answered me yet! Is Monty pretty?”

Finally, James turned around and moved his hand to caress Little Jelly Bean's head. He smiled as he said, “Your father’s sense of judgment has always been good.”

Heaton opened his mouth and introduced Verian. "Uncle, this is my wife, Verian Mont."

Verian greeted James with her eyebrows curved to a smile."Hi, uncle."

James glanced at Verian, and then he said, "Let's go into the house and have a chat. This noon, you'll stay here for a meal. It just so happens that Janny is also at home."

As soon as they walked into the house, a young girl came downstairs in her pajamas. When she saw Heaton, she shouted his name excitedly, "Brother!"

Then, the girl ran down the stairs and threw herself into Heaton's arms. Her hands hugged Heaton's neck as she said happily. "Brother, I haven't seen you for a long time. My dad said that we'll come back to North City this time and won't return to England. I can always come to you to have fun together in the future!”

Verian, who was standing nearby, watched the girl's body that was closely attached to Heaton. A sense of jealousy grew in her heart.

Heaton stretched out his hands and pulled down the hands that were hanging around his neck. At this moment, James lectured his daughter, "Janny, how old are you? Why do you still throw yourself at your brother when you meet him?”

Jane Fudd took a glance at Heaton and coquettishly said, "Dad, I always liked to stick to my brother since I was young. It's not that you don't know about it. He's my brother and he's not an outsider. What's the matter?"

Little Jelly Bean, who was standing nearby, raised her little head and frowned. With her cute voice, she reminded Jane, "Aunt, my father has a wife. You can no longer hold my father like this. If you do so, not only will I be jealous, but Monty won’t be happy as well."

Jane’s eyes trembled. “Brother, did you get married? How come I don’t know about it?”

Heaton pulled Verian closer who was standing beside him, to his side. His big hands held her little hands tightly as he said faintly, “We’ve just gotten our marriage certificate. You’ll be invited for our wedding banquet when we have our ceremony later.”

Jane had not responded yet, and Heaton introduced Jane to Verian. “This is my cousin's sister, Jane Fudd.”

Verian stretched out her hand. “Hi, I’m Verian Mont.”

Jane did not address her as sister-in-law, nor did she shake hands with her. Little Jelly Bean blinked her big eyes and commented as she felt indignant on Verian’s behalf. “Aunt, Monty is saying hi to you. Why are you ignoring her?”

Verian retracted her hand and smiled at Little Jelly Bean as she said, “Jelly Bean, it’s okay. It’s the first time your aunt has met me. We’re not close yet.”

She could feel that Jane was hostile toward her.

The brother who doted on her since she was young was snatched by another woman. This almost felt equal to her boyfriend two-timing. Verian could understand her.

After all, if she had a brother like Heaton, she might not be able to quickly adapt if her brother suddenly got married.

Jane took a glance at Verian in disdain. Then, she turned around and said, “I’ll go upstairs to change first.”

Heaton called out to stop her. His voice sounded cold, as if she could not rebel at all, “Janny, address your sister-in-law.”

“...”

Jane’s almost lost her arrogant and wilful temper. She turned around and stared at Verian, refusing to open her mouth.

Verian looked at Heaton and said, “Forget it.”

However, Heaton’s handsome face was cold. His stern tone did not sound like he wanted an exchange of courtesies. He was obviously ordering her.

At last, Jane was afraid of Heaton. She gritted her teeth and called Verian unwillingly, “Sister-in-law.”

After calling her, she immediately ran upstairs with trotting sounds.

James looked at his daughter’s back. He frowned unhappily. “This child! She’s getting more and more impolite! She’s even more impolite than Little Jelly Bean!”
