“Could someone have called him during his drive which made him head over to the Bolte Sea Bridge?”
“Dr. Jarret, could you send someone to look into Heaton’s call logs on Christmas day?”
Some members of the Yames family had noticed Wilson previously at the Blues Pub but they dared not cross him. This showed the influence and connections Wilson had. Hence, it would not be too difficult to look into a person’s call logs. However, doing so would not exactly be that simple since Verian had no connections with people who worked in any cell phone providers. Therefore, she had to rely on Wilson for this task.
“No problem.”
After ten minutes, Wilson received a string of call logs and the final number on Christmas day was dialled from a payphone.
This payphone number seemed odd.
Verian asked, “Based on the payphone number, we should be able to grasp a rough location of the phone booth, right?”
“Yes, but we’re not sure if there are any surveillance cameras around that phone booth. Moreover, the payphone companies usually only keep surveillance footage for up to a week and it’s been a month since Heaton’s accident.”
Verian gave it a much deeper thought and said, “But who exactly would harm Heaton anyway? Yanni? However, since Sam returned to his side, he has no reason to harm Heaton…”
Wilson said, “That Sam Joyce is too suspicious. If we quickly want to know if Sam had any correlation to Heaton’s accident, we can strap Sam up for a lie detector test.”
“Dr. Jarret, we need her to unroot his trauma. Since Heaton is trapped in his twenty-two year old mind, I think only Sam can awaken him. If we force her to help us, would it ruin our relationship with her and she'd be unwilling to help?”
“You have a point.”
…
Verian immediately went to Yanni’s Blue Precture Villa.
However, both Yanni and Sam were not home and their maid answered the door.
“Excuse me, who are you looking for?”
Verian replied politely as she stood outside the metal door, “Greetings, I am here to look for Sam and Yanni. Are they home?”
Aunt Yen said, “The master and Miss Joyce aren’t home. They’ve gone out. Are you our master’s and Miss Joyce’s friend?”
“Forget it then. I have some important matters to discuss with them.”
As she spoke, a black Bentley was slowly driving toward her location.
The people who got out of the car were both Yanni and Sam.
Yanni felt slightly puzzled when he noticed Verian. He had a slight frown as he said, “Verian? What are you doing here?”
“President Quain, I’m looking for Miss Joyce.”
Lucy felt nervous in her heart. Could Verian have already known that Heaton’s accident was caused by her?
That was not right, if Verian had already known about it, that meant the Fudd family member would have also known about it. Moreover, Fudd Group held a press conference this morning to inform that Heaton was not dead and he came back alive.
Lucy had a neutral look on her face. She smiled and said, “What can I do for you, Miss Mont?”
“Miss Joyce, I knew that it was Heaton’s fault that caused you to fall into the sea. However, now that you’re alive, can you forgive him?”
Lucy chuckled and said, “I didn’t blame Heaton for that. Are you here only to talk about this, Miss Mont?”
“No.” Verian took a look at Yanni then said, “President Quain, can I speak to Miss Joyce in private?”
Yanni gave Lucy a serious look. Lucy then gave him a nod and said, “You go on inside, I’ll speak to Miss Mont for a while. Don’t worry.”
