Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 357

Verian’s body felt weak all over. She was nauseous and could not sleep well.

Yandel came in after knocking on the door and asked, “Are you still feeling sick?”

Verian nodded. “A little. But I should be fine after a night’s sleep. Don’t worry.”

“Are you really not going to see a doctor?” Yandel asked as he felt her forehead. It felt fine. Her body temperature was normal.

“I’m okay. I just feel weak.”

“We’re going to the hospital for the test anyway, so you should get some rest.”

Verian could not sleep after Yandel left. She turned on her phone to check out her social media feeds. As she opened the application, a red notification bubble appeared on the tab bar. A familiar ID had sent her a friend request.

It was Heaton.

Verian was stunned for quite some time but she did not accept it out of the fear that she could not hold herself back. Because of this, she deleted the request.

What was he trying to do? Why did he send her a friend request after their divorce?

For her, Heaton was strong-willed and a person who did not regret his decisions. His hesitance made her feel that he was actually being indecisive.

He asked for a divorce and abandoned her first. But now, he had sent her a friend request. Was he trying to make it up with her?

Verian’s heart was in total chaos. She felt even more restless.

After tossing and turning on her bed for more than an hour, Heaton sent her another request.

Verian rejected his request right away, wondering where her courage was coming from.

After being notified that his request had been rejected, a dark expression crept over Heaton’s face as he became grim.

How dare that woman reject him!

Heaton gritted his teeth. He had never faced this kind of rejection after living for more than 30 years!

It was always women who asked for his contact. But this woman... She had blocked his phone number and even his social media accounts!

He acted first and added her twice, but she ignored him the first time and even rejected it after he sent out his second request!

He calmed himself down and gave it some thought. Xavier was the one who disguised himself as him and asked for a divorce. She was clueless then and had plenty of reasons to be mad at him.

But this woman had ran away from home and blocked him. Just thinking about it drove him mad and was causing him a headache.

He walked to the bookshelf and opened ‘Dusk in Florence’ again. He took out a note from it and stared at it.

He could not help but snort. “How dare you leave without a word when you want me to look for you.”

Heaton grew agitated thinking about it. He slammed the book shut and rubbed his temples with his fingers as he returned to his chair wearily.

He recalled that before Verian left North City, he took her to the aquarium to look at whales. She told him the meaning of a whale fall. Those three words that she told him were abrupt at the time. Was she telling him that she could be like the whales and sacrifice herself for him?

Who was asking her to sacrifice herself? Had he allowed her to do so?

She was afraid that people would judge them for their blood ties and so, she left without a word. Did she consider his feelings?

But what made him angrier was that he could not be with her while she was devastated and in despair.

He had no idea how that old man had managed to persuade her to go to Florence but she seemed to have made up her mind. She had thought about him and Little Jelly Bean, plus the Mont family. However, she did not think for herself.

Heaton disliked this sort of sacrifice. He disliked it even more when his woman did something so silly without his knowledge.
