Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 363

Early the next morning, Heaton and Verian returned to Guant mansion together.

In the Guant Family Mansion, Yandel and Xylean were eating breakfast.

Heaton and Yandel’s friendship was formed after a fight. Among men, especially outstanding men like themselves, they mostly admired each other. Now, they were even related. Because of this, the hatred between them was soon mended.

Yandel opened his mouth and said, "Have you had breakfast? Do you wanna sit down and eat some food?"

Verian shook her head and smiled, saying, "Heaton and I went around South City's small suburb while coming here. We also went to a small restaurant to have breakfast. We've eaten many of South City's signature snack food."

When Yandel was almost finished eating, Heaton opened his mouth. "If President Soan is free, we can chat."

"Of course. We'll go to my study to talk."

Lowering his head, Heaton told Verian, "You wait for me here. Don't run all over the place."

Obediently, Verian nodded. "Hm, I'll go chat with Leannie."

When Heaton went upstairs with Yandel, Xylean moved her hand to rest on Verian's shoulder before asking, "This is your husband?"

Verian blushed a little. "Yes."

"No wonder you miss him so much. He's so handsome and kind to you. Yesterday when he came over, he was furious. His eyes looked as if he wanted to swallow Yandel."

"Why?"

"Because your husband thought Yandel was his love rival who presumptuously hid his wife. Of course he’d flare up."

Verian's heart felt touched.

Normally, Heaton was such a calm man, so it was rare to see his temper go out of control. "It's a pity that I didn't see him worrying about me. He’s usually very cold."

"That’s easy. There are surveillance cameras outside this courtyard. Yesterday, Yandel was meeting with your husband in the semi open-air teahouse in the courtyard. There are cameras there as well. Let me get the footage for you."

"Are there really cameras?"

"Of course. Let's go."

...

In the study, Yandel and Heaton stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the faraway scenery outside the window.

"Riana is pregnant and can't donate her hematopoietic stem cells to Madam Guant. I hope President Soan can understand."

Yandel laughed softly with his deep voice. "What if I cannot?"

Blinking his icy eyes, Heaton said with a calm voice, "If President Soan cannot understand, then he’ll just have to deal with it. Riana is my wife and a member of the Fudd family. If she wants to donate her hematopoietic stem cell to others, she has to get my approval first."

Narrowing his eyes, Yandel pondered, "If Rainie was not pregnant now, would you have allowed her to donate them?"

"Honestly, I don't want to." Turning his eyes to look at Yandel, Heaton said that with a firm tone.

Yandel just curled his lips, unsurprised. "But, donating hematopoietic stem cells doesn’t cause much harm to the donor. Besides that, saving a life is more meritorious than building a seven-floor pagoda. Madam Gaunt is also Rainie’s mother."

"From a scientific point of view, donating hematopoiesis stem cells truly does not cause much harm to the donor but I don't want Riana to take any risks, especially when it comes to her health. I don’t apply scientific logic or reasoning on anything to do with Verian. I hope she can live with me until we're 80 years old. Maybe even 90 or 100. Therefore, I do not want to see her weak or with ill health. As for building a seven-floor pagoda, I'm not interested."

Heaton once said that he was very selfish. If the world was going to be destroyed one day, he would save it. Instead, he would only take Verian to escape to the safest place to hide.

He did not care about other people’s lives. As long as Verian was healthy and alive, it was enough.

Yandel stared at his black eyes. After a long time, he finally opened his mouth. "My sister meeting you was probably the luckiest thing to happen to her after she was taken away."
