After wiping his hand, Yandel threw the handkerchief aside. His eyes looked icy.
Jean's pupils dilated and her plumpish body wriggled on the chair. "What are you going to do?"
Yandel opened his cellphone and played a video. "Are you aware of the consequences if I release the video of Sean Soan having a gathering and committing substance abuse to the police?"
Jean was angry and afraid, her voice trembling violently. "Sean is a member of the Soan family! He's related to the Soan family by blood! No matter what, he's still your biological brother! Yandel, are you even human?!"
Keeping his cellphone, the corners of Yandel's mouth curved slightly in a cold grin. "Rainie is also Sean's sister. How could you cruelly send someone to take her away? As a newborn baby, if she wasn't lucky enough to be found by a kind person, she would have died long ago."
"What the hell do you want then?!"
Yandel did not even blink as he said indifferently, "Merely sending you to the police station is too kind. I wouldn’t be satisfied."
Some people could not be taken away by God.
For example, a person like Jean who was prone to being evil and manipulative.
Heaton's hands were in his pockets and his eyes looked extremely icy. "In Florence, you sent someone to kidnap and assassinate Rainie. You’ll pay for it."
Jean suddenly laughed loudly. "That little bitch is really blessed! 20 years ago, I was so kind! I should have just stabbed her to death! I didn't expect her to live so well! What I also didn't expect was for you to find her in Florence! Hahahahahaha... It's my bad! I should have killed her!"
...
Coming out of the darkroom, Heaton handed the recording pen to Yandel.
It was Jean's confession.
"We have a verbal confession, a witness, and material evidence. The offense of intentional homicide should keep Jean in jail for at least 10 years."
With his hands in the pockets, Heaton moved his long legs and walked forward. "Only life imprisonment and the death penalty can let such a person give up her evil ideas."
Holding the recording pen, Yandel stood in place and looked at Heaton's back. He curled his thin lips. "I happen to hold the same view."
Pausing his steps, Heaton turned around. "By the way, I'll take Rainie back to North City in a few days."
"Please do. However, I still hope Rainie can come back to accompany my mother more often. She really missed her a lot all these years."
Heaton nodded his head slightly. "Certainly."
...
Verian had just taken a shower and was drying her hair while walking out of the bathroom. She saw Heaton sitting on a recliner, reading a book.
"Where did you and my brother go just now? I looked around and couldn’t find you."
"We were settling some affairs."
Putting the book aside, Heaton pulled her to his lap and put his big hand around her waist. He said, "In a few days, we'll be back in North City. Little Jelly Bean misses you.”
Upon the mention of Little Jelly Bean, Verian's heart became sad. "I haven't seen Little Jelly Bean in a long time."
Heaton held her hand in his palm and squeezed it. "After settling some affairs here in the next few days, we'll go back."
Verian felt tired and gave him a 'hm' sound. Then, she leaned on Heaton's shoulder, questioning as she pondered, "Do you think there's love between Eric and Madam Guant?"
Heaton took the towel in her hand and helped her dry her wet hair. "Why are you thinking about this?"
"I was just thinking... Would people's feelings change over time? Will we become like that one day?"
Lowering his black eyes, Heaton's glance locked on her little face. "Am I that cruel in your heart?"
Verian was silent.
"I mean, people change."
"However, Eric didn't change. He deceived Madam Guant from the beginning and didn't love her."
What he said was also true. "What about Jean? Jean was his chosen lover."
Heaton carried the little woman in his arms and walked toward the big bed. "Eric doesn't necessarily like Jean. If he really has Jean in his heart, he wouldn’t leave in such a hurry before finding out Jean's whereabouts today."
"This means that my father really is a scumbag."
Heaton carried her to the big bed. "I don’t care about these things."
